Desi men are no different than any other man when it comes to who initiates…is that true? I would think desi men are more traditional in their thinking. Traditional as in the man asks the woman obliges or doesn’t oblige.
I was talking with a guy friend and the topic of initiating in a relationship came up. In a marriage, a man always prefers to initiate romance or intimacy, if a woman initiates, she wouldn’t be seen in a good light. Are all men different when it comes to being the initiators or are certain things like this pretty standard across the board for men.
I find this very curious. Why would a woman be looked at in a bad light if she initiated something in her marriage? She's his wife.. she has the right to do so. I'm confused.

The thought of a girl initiating or even just enjoying intimacy seems to blow some people's minds..
GG, men are different.. some guys do still think this way but other more modern guys won't care or may even prefer it (esp if he's really into the girl).. Girls should go with their gut instinct..

So what you're saying is..desi men say she should hold off on her urges for the 20 something years BEFORE her marriage (which makes sense) and then when she gets married, she should hold her urges AFTER marriage...what? Lmao ok my bad. Desi women are supposed to be saints. What on earth was I thinking. We are just mechanical beings that function on instruction :) lol
I don't think that this has to do with "desi-ness". The same can be said for guys from most cultural backgrounds. Maybe we are just a bit more uptight in this area and other cultures have managed to get over the taboo.

In western culture it's seen as quite sexy for the wife/gf to initiate nowadays.. It would probably be the exception rather than the norm for a guy to actually mind his other half initiating intimacy..

This is my biggest fear - I end up with a goody goody girl that just lies there and thinks oral is haram - I pray to god I don't revert to jerk mode and start chasing tail again.. Best compromise would be getting a second wife I think.

Most desi guys are insecure due to religious and cultural constraints surrounding sexuality - they all talk a big game though in my experience.
Just because desi men don’t go around and openly declare what kind and type of freak they like in their bed, it doesn’t mean they don’t appreciate the initiation or want a dead body in bed (like wth seriously?).
Seriously, some of the generalizations about desi men on this forum are unbelieveable. No wonder the poor guys don’t know which leg to stand on
sigh I’m never going to understand our desi culture. Can’t run from it, can’t embrace it completely. Yay for us. The guy is insecure yet the woman has to face the consequences for wanting to do something i would think is normal. Now i have to rethink everything i’ve ever thought about concerning marriage.
