Fraudia sahab, agree with you there but its all a matter of belief on hadeeth. It is not permitted for us to make the graves into shrines or make tombs over them. That explains why they are plain in Al-Baqee graveyard in Medina.

and purposeful desecration fo graves is soemthing that is also not liked. let the graves be as they are. And as far as building shrines how far are ppl willing to take it, what about where the prophet is buried?

I am not in favour of building tombs, but I am also not in favour of bulldozing graves.

The other aspect of this thread which seems to be conveniently forgotten now are the structures or sites that have historical significance for us, and how it is technically possible to expand without demolishign these sites.

You were not there on as a tourist enjoying "sightseeing". Just pray and come back. I hope what the authorities there have done stays that way. Otherwise, it would become more like Pakistan, where on every city's entrance there is a place where you give to the fraudias who have made a "dukaan" at these graves.

Shirk is unforgivable!

Indeed shirk is unforgiveable and i pray to Allah to keep me away from it.

There are ample places in the world for "sightseeing" much more beautiful than dry hills of KSA. What we want to see is to look for oursleves what happened 1400 years ago.

Is it shirk to see 'khandaq' if it had been preserved? or the house of Abu Ayyaub Ansari or the well of Uthman ra etc?

what about places that are not graves..houses for example...why demolish them. and fine dont have huge bldgs on graves, but if they are already there why knowck them down..its just a pace where an important person from our history is buried.

Now i go to my relatives graves to do fatiha, and even if I dont, knowing where my ancstors are buried is important, its part of my family history.

Saudis are against the whole ummah. My uncle went on Haj with late Qadri shaheed and Saudis whipped him until his back started bleeding.

His crime? he was only remebering Prophet (s.w) and crying for him.

how does the logic work? bey, if someone believe its shirk, how you gonna change their beliefs by demolishing graves?

it's a wonder they have left the Prophet (saw), and the first two caliphs shrines intact... these jahil folks cant seem to see pass their nose.
