Crescent, I have been to Makkah and medina many times.
people who are into biddah will find some venue for it, that does not mean you demolish things that are of historical (note i said hisroical not religious) significance to the rest of muslims.
I have seen idiots go out of control at masjid e nabwi too, surely that does not mean saudi morons should raze the prophets grave?
Lets not destroy such significant landmarks due to the jahil actions of ignorant ullu kay pathay.

Jaan leva, i know somebidy who more than cleans the place. My dad’s company was involved in design and expansion of the haram shareef. There work however did not involve torr phorr of histroically significant places.
as far as what ppl do in such places, I spent a good chunk of my life in KSA and went to makkah and medina numerous times. yes there are ppl who do such idiotic things, but a far greater number does not.
as far as how technology can help…here u go
the concept I put forth was very simple. take the area into haram shareef premises, point that this is about the place such and such house was. move the house to a farther place with other historically important bldgs.
another concept is to expand the haram shareef, build the hotels, do whatever, but do it one level above. i.e. leave the ground floor as is. its not just some untested concept. Chicago has done it already, part of downtown level streets are actually one level above city level with streets underneath. There is no issue of weight or structural issue. note that the area we are talking about is very small, and not all of that needs to be preserved, but some parts, so as long as you can build around those few areas, there is no issue.
as far as infrastructure and technology goes..not all hajis stay 2 blocks from haram shareef, majority are farther away, so the small percentage that lives on those hotels should be able to be lets say 6 blocks away than 2 blocks. 4 blocks is not going to kill anyone and would only be hard on a very small group of ppl e.g. very old ppl, however not all very old hajis are in those hotels, so they are managing somehow. right.
as I said…where there is a will there is a way, when there is no will there are a thousand excuses.

In the past couple of decades, so many houses of the companions and of the Prophet himself and other historical sites have been levelled to the ground only to be replaced by five star hotels. Surely it cannot be for fear of people getting involved in shirk. And even if it is, iam sure Saudis have enough resources and manpower, to appoint a couple of guards at the historical site preventing people from doin any shirk there.

Still there are hujras of Our Holy prophet(s,a,w) and so many muslim kiss there, pray there and love to see those hujras in the same as they used to kiss other hujras of respected muslims in jannatul baqi. so excuse of committing shirk is baseless.

Its amazing, the same shias who curse and disrespect Hazrat Aisha, Hazrat Usman (ra) are now asking questions regarding why their SHRINES or SHRINES BUILT on TOP of their GRAVES were demolished.

Can anyone here please give me the description of about when the Masjid al Nabuwi, was first expanded and what conditions where applied.
These topics lead us know where, btw let me put it in crystal clear words. Did the grave of Hazrat Usman, or Hazrat Ayessha radiallaahuanhom, bring any benefit or harm to any individual. What brings benefit to you is Quran and Hadith.
I do agree the sanctity of these graves, someones here arguing as if it has to be consecrated. I respect the sahaba karam.
But can anyone prove one unequivocal statement in the Quran and Hadith, regarding demolition of graves is allowed or disallowed.
The way someones supporting such statements proves like its amongst the Al Khabaair Sins. Why blame saudi government, thats one place which is clean of Shirk, thats the most important aspect.

If it was up to smma59, the graves of the sahaba and family of of the prophet would be turned into mini masjids and worship places for all and for those who can’t get their duas answered from masjid nabi or kaba.
Are the actions of Saudi government good or bad? To answer that question, you should look at these points:
-Be realistic
-Think who is in that grave
-Think about what prophet did and said about graves
-Knowing the person buried there has been with prophet, would he/she allow shrines and solid graves for themselves? -From historical perspective, the shrines were only built on the graves when grave worship, tree worship, etc were at their peak in middle east. Those shrines were not part of the original grave.
-This is not wahabi vs brailvi but an issue that deals with sunnah of the prophet… people like smma59 like to make sure they mention terms and groups that have nothing to do with the basic ruling on the graves and why SHRINES on them were demolished.
-If you really like shrines on graves or solid grave, leave a fund behind and ask your relatives to build one for you or over your grave.
-The more you promote and ask why those shrines were demoslished the more you prove the fact that you are a grave worshipper and value graves of dead people more than anything else or any other form of worship.

I am not justifying what they did. I am only saying why is it neceassary to build a shrine over the grave of Bibi Fatima when Ali ra did not build one. He would have been the most suited one to do it.
And while i am against what people do at graves, i think people should be allowed to visit the graves of pious people and offer Fatiha.
