I’m wondering do we even have someone who is friend of Zardari because thats compulsory to be the PCB chairman and is also sane enough to make sensible decisions for Pakistani Cricket? We don’t need Butt and obviously not any new Butt either, so who can be his replacement in your viewpoint?

The tradition of president appointing PCB chairman which exists nowhere in the world has to stop. There needs to be a proper constitution and system of accountability. Can anyone ever imagine the Queen appointing ECB chairman?

I read in daily jang the other day that zahir abbas is most likely to take over from Butt after pak-england series. Totally unsure about his administrative skills, I think he can be a GM, not chairman.

O btw, after the allegations of Butt, Zardari had met the very unhappy British high-commission in Islamabad, asking every one to end the blame-game. Now this can be the only reason that can trigger removal of Butt. I'm 110% sure that Zardari can remove his father from seat, if he sees that the relations with british admin are in danger.

I thought GM needed more administrative skills than a chairman. The chairman needs diplomatic skills the most which Butt sb obviously never learnt during 75 years of his life.

No I believe GMs are the people inclined towards the game more than anything.
If you look at the sports played in US, in NBA, NFL or MLB, all the GMs of Yankees & others act are either ex-players or someone associated very closely with that game.

Any one is better than Butt since that won’t take too much effort and Zaheer is very respected since he was a master class bat in his own time.
And yes if he listens to the captains and lets selection be on merit then why not? he can make a difference -

Well, I really dont know what good are you seeing in Rameez to be the COO.
The only and only bright side is that, he has very good contacts with Cricket world, especially the media. So we can regain some respect that we’ve lost in the latest battle, whether its our fault or no

I think...it will be the best...the Board from within itself (the body) elect the Chairmam by a universal suffrage...and remove the current Chairman by a vote of no-trust...hmmmmmmmm
PS: It boils down to: that the Board's members should have the ultimate power and not the Chairman...hmmmmmmmm

Its the world of dictatorship my friends. President of the country has no role being the Parton of PCB. There is no concept of accountability or performance of PCB Chairman. Dosti, Yaari, and Rishtadari only way to success.
