Things like Camay soap from Pakistan? It’s the same stuff you can buy at Walmart, or anywhere else, just different name. Who would want to buy Lux? Who use Rin anymore?
I can understand thigns like Hamdard Peelu toothpaste, Dentonic or skin cremes, but all the above mentioed stuff confuses me.

tum saro ko sharam ani chehey. Your parents used the same stuff when they were back home. I see budhi dadi ama’s using them. It gives them that comfy feeling. Tum logo ko kia budhi amas and abas like them. I know this uncle who uses shaving cream of baba adam’s zamana. He likes it.
Things that dont bother you why worry about them. I dont think you got homework for this vacation did you

i meant thoze soap tooth paste n many other productz which are available with same brandz(mostly) y they r in desi shopz? y thoze shop owner bother themselves to bring this kinda products from Pakistan???

I always assume that desi folk who have sentimental memories of these brands buy them and stick with them.

I think a lot of stuff at normal American shops r made in America...and asians like to go to their own shops to purchase something that may have the same name, in say Walmart, but it won't necessarily have the same ingredients...a lot of American products r like that, they even bring products in from Europe...but trust me they're not the same as back there...and i guess for some customers, they want to support their country back home and/or miss it...i duno, bcos i don't do that...i just buy stuff there that i know i can't get at the normal supermarket.

Why would anyone buy that hideous stuff called DETTOL. The bottle and its label freaks me out. And then those big ass daighchaaz and mechanically defunct tawwas! Desis are weird people.

As for the Desi store stuff...its just like going to Pakistan and buying Del monte Orange Juice from the Western produce store when you can buy freshly squeezed from the street seller.

i always buy stuff from desi stores....usually go there to check out the guys but the veggies are also cheaper. dont buy soaps or cremes though....mmmm oh yeah i usually go there to buy hair oil.

checking out guys, besharam. :nono: My local desi store is run by sardarji’s so no point in checking anybody out for me. Lekin, they sell such good stuff, you can buy Ribena there and zeera biscuits 
. Sabzis are also cheaper there. My sister used to buy coconut oil for her hair from desi shops, but that’s about it.

I bought lux soap from desi store when my mom was here. she wouldn't use another kind.
