I understand your points and why you dislike MQM. I’m not a big fan of them due to their violence but if you put that aside than MQM has done a lot of development work for Karachi. Look at Karachi’s infrastructure from 10 years ago and look at it now, traffic problems have been reduced and pollution has been reduced and you have to give credit where its due to MQM,]. They give educated middle class people a chance to shine as well an example of that is Mustafa Kamal. To my people MQM are the people who stood up for us when we were being neglected and discriminated by the other ethnicities in Karachi. The government couldn’t stop the racism so someone had to step in and it was MQM created by Altaf Hussein. MQM touched those very delicate points like stopping feudalism and giving Muhajir jobs and no discrimination and that is why they got the support of urdu speaking people. Another thing I’m seeing alot here is that MQM is always brought in when a thread on Karachi is made. A thread on Karachi cricket players was opened and immediately a member brought in MQM. People are quick to point out the crimes by MQM but forget ANP and PPP’s actions. And Karachi is still an economic powerhouse of Pakistan and South Asia.
