Who adopted Islam first?

Which areas of Pakistan became part of the Islamic world, first, second, third etc? I have heard that Islam came to Baluchistan in the age of the Rashidun Caliphs. Sindh/ Southern Punjab (Multan) in the days of Muhammad bin Qasim (Umayyids). I am not sure when Islam reached central Punjab and Frontier.

Re: Who adopted Islam first?

Islam came to Iran in the days of Umar (RA) so I wont be surprised if it did not reach Baluchistan

Re: Who adopted Islam first?

Balochistan was conquered in the Rashidun era (twice - it revolted During Hazrat Ali's (r.a) rule and had to be conquered by his army again)

Similarly the western fringes of the NWFP was part of the Persian Khorasan province, which was brought under Islamic rule by the Umayyads.

Southern Punjab was invaded by Mohammed Bin Qasim, so Islamic rule was established in part of Punjab by him.

Re: Who adopted Islam first?

There is a good book on islam in Subcontinent i will put the title here a little later

but in time of uthman b affan , a expedition conquered makran and was led by a basran hakim b jabalah who is described as a sahabi in some sources and tabi in others.

The balochistan expedition was probably led by ahnaf b qays at the time of sayyidna umar
