I cant understand that to be fair depending on what you believe we are either all decended from early humans who broke out of Africa or we just came to be.
I dont think about colour or creed anymore. I used to be very much a racist of sorts too but the company I have kept over the years has changed all that... hell the Land is all the same too me now too. I still have some pride for Pakistan but to me its just one big World and even borders have lost thier meaning to me.
One earth which we have all carved up for ourselves. Its like cutting up your own mother. :(
Agree Faris bhai but the matter looks more than just an inferiority complex. It's the people who control the media all over. I'm sure Rihanna would be slightly annoyed to see her pics. Are they trying to please and appeal to the white majority or are they trying to mentally enslave us coloured people?
Well if you've followed the close re-emergance of White Supremacists into politics you would have more reason to worry.
I'm no conspiracy theorist but there are a lot of fishy goings on at the minute. Facism is on the rise as is the extreme left wing. Desperate times are breeding desperate people.
I would not worry too much about it at the present but there is a definate change in the air all round. Theres a buzz of activity around the World and I fear we have entered an unusual global war of a very ugly kind.
The Media and those in power have thier supporters and on the other side there are the crazy ones who stand up for rights and justice but slowly they are being sucked into a conflict.
I predict a lot of odd things might take place soon, dont want to say too much in case it comes back to haunt me but those who are observant will notice theres definately a lot going on around us that we dont realise.
we are too quick to point at the media. We, as a society, have made this an issue and whether people believe it or not, it is an issue we are still not able to resolve entirely. I feel like not the media but our women are actually responsible for this, I have seen and heard certain women STILL saying non-sense stuff in front of their kids like 'dont go outside, you will get darker"...
When I was growing up, my siblings and I would actually get grounded for making fun of other kids. I still remember my brother called his one girl kaali when he was 8 and my mom took away his video game. I really think that as parents, we need to actually TRAIN our kids to get rid of this notion, else it isnt going away and media is not the only one responsible.
^I am not that dark, yet I have severe issues with it. I hate it when people see human beings only in the light of their superficial characteristics. We are far far deeper and beautiful than that. I hate any form of judgement of another person based on superficial criteria and it needs a very very trained mind to look beyond the superficial, imo.
^yes but I am talking about superficiality in general. I don't care if complexion is a concern for you, it is a stupid concern based on little thoughts. And our thoughts are formed by our education, our training, the way we are raised up, even our families.

True that. Other thing I've noticed, people who make fun of dark skinned girls have no respect for white girls either.
Is she really getting paler or is her tone just different all the time due to lighting, photshop etc? I don’t think she herself really cares about whitening her skin.. if she wanted to she could make herself a lot paler (like Lil Kim did)..
I remember a while back there were some unedited pap pics of Beyonce outdoors in extreme sunlight and she looked almost white but then literally the next day there were pics of her taken in indoors and she looked her normal tan colour again..
White people from Western countries want to have a tan because it looks like they have been on a vacation and just came back from some tropic country or island. It's in a way associated with being rich. Also it looks healthier. Brown people from southern countries want to be fairer because it's associated ALSO with being rich. Rich people have jobs where they don't work outside in the heat, under the sun where they would get a tan...So it's a class issue and not a racial one...
Even If Rihanna is getting fairer, which I personally don't think is the case...be it dark or light skinned, she is not that attractive looking.
within a few more generations,if the chinese have all the money, power and success, they will then look sophisticated, cool and beautiful to the rest of the world. Chinese looks will be the gold standard. All wannabe desis will then want eyelid operations to get slit eyes.
