I would prefer being in the front because I get awful motion sickness being in the back.
MIL always tells me to sit in the back or just gets outta the house before I get a chance to....acting like kids, like I'm gonna take her seat, literally! Although, I really don't care but it's funny to see! If FIL/BIL are present they sit in front and MIL and I sit in the back. But, the most funniest (or saddest part) is that when we go to someones dawat, she tells me to sit in front, even when FIL/BIL are present....and when we're leaving from there and the whole household is out saying goodbyes, she just says it out loud "nahie beta, tum aage betho apne miyan ke saath".....the very first time I was shocked like WTH?!....but now I know her tactics so used to it :)

I let MIL sit in the front passenger seat and I sit on the roof. After all, I need to do one better than her......oh wait.....I don't have an MIL officially yet, but when I do......

I know a couple who got divorced on this issue.. no kidding!
I sit in the back .. MIL or no MIL because my baby is too small… he likes to see mommy

awww i know spiral when my babay was samll i used 2 sit at back till 6 months after 6 months v got her front facing car seat :) n i was back 2 my seat hehehehe

My MIL likes to sit in the back cos then she feels that she doesn't have to wear a seatbelt. Seatbelts annoy her. Anyone still has to wear a seatbelt wherever they sit in the car, but she feels she can hide from the police in the back seat. Bless her

General findings:
Rear seat passengers are safer than front seat when use seat-belts.
Older than 50 are safer in front seat (because of airbag) while younger than 50 are safer in backseat.
So, let older people sit in front for their better safety.
