Which Religion you would choose.

you must be kidding:eek:…women do not have full rights and a woman conceives ‘every child in sin’…and woman is being punished by carrying a baby(burden, labour and all)…a practising devout christian is supposed to give up all his freedom for true service(to it’s last extreme)…oh well tht’s all i know:bummer:

i had a choice and i chose islam Alhamdulillah…even if i were born into a non muslim family, i know i would still choose Islam because it’s the ONLY religion that gives true freedom and balances between our pleasures and if it does prohibit something then it’s for our own good(this good has got nothing to do with aakhirah, jannah etc)…and it’s the only religion in which women have their rights and freedom and dignity

Re: Which Religion you would choose.

^ I totally agree with you Sa-nafooz :cheer:

talking about india......even many of the rajputs who were warriors, held positions and daymn rich chose Islam by choice and not by being forced into it or by necessity

your support mean so much aaliyah:bulbuli:

Really? I can prove to you that it IS man-made but you will never be able to prove that it is not. You know why? Because your faith is based on NOTHING but years of relentless brainwashing.

Allah or God is something my heart tells me is The Chaotic Order. The Infinite Oneness. The Destructive Beautiful.

Religion comes a means for us to align with that by choice.
[/quote]

Not sure what you mean here but Muhammad's Allah had predetermined our fate, our actions, sins, and everything else as mentioned repeatedly in the Quran itself. When Allah has closed off our hearts to the truth, how will we come to know it unless it's HIS choice to bring us to the truth? Life on earth is not a test because your Allah has already decided our fate.

Let's assume that tomorrow Allah (SWT) reveals Himself as though we see Him. Will we even have a choice left? Our bodies and minds will be drawn into submission. We will become insanely annihilated in intoxicated worship because that will be our disposition. Religion is the collective act of what we would do if we could see God.

I will tell on Muhammad...

Did you study Christianity and Islam thoroughly before choosing Islam? The Bible was not written by Jesus, it's a collection of Gospels really, hence, it has different versions just as Quran has a million interpretations.. Mullahs and the lovely Islamic scholars change the word of Allah ALL THE TIME in the name of fatwa..

I suggest you further study both religions unless you chose Islam simply because it gave you peace.

@Muniya- I am not affiliated with any religion in case you haven't noticed.

Yes actually, my father specially is a very strict Christian....I have read a lot on Christianity...but something never seemed right!

The Quran has a million "interpretations" but not different versions right? In Arabic it is the same isn't it? I'm asking this coz I dnt know how to read Arabic.

And yes, Islam did give me peace, coz I went through a very bad time and the only reason I am still alive is because of the Quran...nothing else....so I am ever grateful to Allah for showing me the way :)

Re: Which Religion you would choose.

They say you can put all religious books including bible, torah, hindu books, buddhist books into the ocean and throw all the qurans into the ocean. The only book that will stay with the people will be the QURAN! That's the only book that's been memorized from cover to cover by millions. That is the miracle Allah has promised will stay with us! ALLAHU AKBAR!

Re: Which Religion you would choose.

My first and last choice would be Islam.

why? its because no other religion in the world approves the other religions prior to Islam to be once from Allah ( judaism/christianity ).

So Islam offers inner-peace to you. It offers direct relationship between you and Allah Almighty

Islam is a complete religion. Complete way of life. There is no contradictions, everything is self explanatory.

Islam is a living religion with its creator constantly been in touch with those whom are His humble servants.

Its a beautiful , just so beautiful way of living life. You want to earn akhirah, you become Muslim not just by name , but with your acts. Your life here and the hereafter is all set.

Finally, no religion guarantees paradise if followed properly , but only Islam.

Interesting. A million interpretations can be compared to having different versions. If it weren't true, we wouldn't have Islam divided into 73 (or more) sects.

Did you read Quran? What did you find so peaceful in it? Just wondering

P.S. I am always amazed to see new converts. It's always about finding peace within. :)

That's hardly a miracle. People ARE capable of memorizing any book if they so wished. Most religious Jews know the Tourah inside out; many religious Christians have memorized the Bible. This and including a million other Jewish traditions were copied later by Muslims. This was not a new practice.

What is exactly so beautiful about it? I fail to see it everytime! I haven't found anything peaceful in the Quran that Muslims continue to rave about.

No religion guarantees paradise, 72 virgins and all because no one before Muhammad commanded his followers to lie, deceive, cheat, kill, fight, and ask for tax money so the unbelievers in the same city can be protected FROM angry Muslims.

Show me one single version of the Bible? Torah? Gita? The fact that the Qur'an has been preserved is a miracle. There's no King Faisal's Quran or King Saddam's Quran.

There may be a million Interpretations...but I dnt think that they have changed the Quran...where as the Bible, there is one for each sect!!!!

I was a bit surprised to learn that Islam had so many sects...which i learned only recently. I did not even know there were Shias and Sunnis till Afghanistan and Iraq came up on the news a lot....which is approximately the same time I became interested in Islam!!!!

I have read the translation of the Quran twice...once out of interest and once to keep myself from going over the edge. I needed someone to tell me that there is a reason for all this madness in the world and somehow I found it in Islam...I can't explain everything here coz it is too personal.

I also feel that it was always meant to be..coz I have always had Muslim friends...and I always respected their culture more than anyone elses....I remember when I was around 12yrs my best friend in school is Muslim...she was fasting..and kids would always make fun of her...or put food in front of her and laugh...it use to make me furious...and I would fight with those kids to leave her alone. And when ever she would feel that she could not go on with it that day coz she was soooo thirsty..she would take the water bottle and try to drink...but I would not let her...I would encourage her and tell her that it was just a few more hours..and that she could do it.

So I guess I have taken them and everything after that as signs pointing me towards Islam :)

masha'Allah ! :)

Re: Which Religion you would choose.

^Thank you!

You do know that these versions are based on translations just like the Quran is, right? They call them Bible versions, you call them Quranic Tafsir. It's two of the same thing! Most Chritians do not speak Hebrew or Greek just as most Muslims do not speak Arabic. The Bible supposedly has 8 versions, Quran has a million interpretations, translations, or tafsir. The Hebrew & Aramaic Bible is not lost, it is still preserved but hardly anybody can understand it.
As a matter of fact, all versions are available. It's not like they "changed" the holy book and presented a new one altogether. Christians have the decency to admit that some words/verses have indeed been replaced. Jews and neither Muslims have ever admitted that their scriptures could have been corrupted while being edited after the death of their prophets. Muslims claim that Bible was given to Jesus, wrong. No book was revealed to Jesus per historical records. So it doesn't even make sense to compare the Bible to Torah or the Quran because the bible itself is a collection of events, words of Jesus which came after the death of Jesus (whoops! I mean ressurection) There IS a lot of room for error.

I don't believe in Christianity or any religion for that matter, but I do believe Jesus had better morals than Muhammad and Moses. He did not command his companions to write every word of it and then memorize it. Jesus did not have made to order revelations. If Jesus was how he's portrayed in the Bible, Gospels, and the Quran, then Jesus was a completely different man of character than Muhammad.

If the Quran has not been changed then why are there so many contradictions? I guess it's no point asking that question because Muslims don't even want to admit that there are contradictions. It's surely a miracle that inspite of these contraditions there are still 1.3 billion followers.

Seems like you were inspired! That's all it takes to find peace :) Good for you as long as it makes you happy..

Absolutely wrong.

The different versions of bible are not "tafsirs" but versions of events of life of Jesus according to different authors, who do not even agree on geneology of their supposed God. There were hundreds of versions of bible of which a handful were canonized.

There are no historical records of Jesus available, unless you consider bible as a historical record, which would be laughable, as its nothign more than mythology. So you cannot say that Jesus received or did not receive a book.

Ofcourse Jesus was a completely different character than Muhammad pbuh, because his circumstances were different. He had 12 followers, who could hardly dare to assert themselves. However, what christians think Jesus would havebeen had he had military might is evident from what they describe he will do when he comes second time, which is, he will exterminate majority of mankind from face of earth unless you happen to be an israelite.

There are no contradictions in Quran, and i know you parrot a few verses copy pasted from anti-islam websites who have o idea of the meaning.

Quran has been unaltered and that is something all the sane scholars of history also attest to.

Confucianism , though its not a religion , but an ethical philosophic system .
