This is what I have heard them say, and then again they dont believe in God (reason as mentioned by Kakaballi).

They believe religions the responsible for a big proportion of wars.
This argument was used (as some using here) to bring secularism, and when secularism prevailed, they used science to remove religion and bring atheism.

They believe that science and religion cant go together. They cant fathom to believe something which cant be proven by logic/science. Those who believe in religions take many things for granted.

I dont dispute with that but that is old story, practically, they got strength in those regions where religion is absent already.

Faith, by its nature defies rationality. If we could see God, His powers and could talk to Him, then believing in him would not be 'faith' anymore. It would be a rational decision to believe in God.
Now, if from rationale and logic, you cannot prove existence of such a being, then either you irrationally decide to have 'faith' or you don't. Most of us were born in religious families and hence we cannot see a lot of irrational things religion asks us to believe in (angels, hell, heaven, life after death, etc.). From an 'outsider' perspective, those seem more like fairy tales than serious business.

There have been wars which were not based on religions, but most have been like crusades, sectarian killings (like Shia/Sunni and Catholic and Orthodox), Palestine/Israel...
Aryan Invasion, Genghiz Khan's attacks, Alexendra Invasion, First & Second world war and even latest attacks of US and allies on many countries can't be termed as a war imposed by religion or religious people. We can't say its religion which leads to wars most of the time IMO considering all this history of wars.
At times, religion could ended the wars. Arabs, who were into wars for petty issues fighting with each other (where generation after generations of two tribes fought against each other), became civilised and friendly towards each other forgetting centuries old enmities due to Islam. If we look at war history during the Prophet's period death toll as per some sources was just near 500 on both the sides and we all know about the level of massacre caused by say Genghiz Khan. If you want to evaluate a religion then you have to look at its origin and in case of Islam, its period of the Prophet and not the successors that should determine the warrior nature of Islam.

I'll add to what kaka has written above we can't see Allah, the miracles that we believe as is like powers of Isa (AS) due to which he used to cure blinds and bring people back from the dead. Even miraj and the miracle due to which the prophet (SAW) broke the moon into two.

but Proephet (SAW) didn't claim miraj and shaqqul qamar as his miracles. He, based on revelation, kept on saying that he doesn't have any miracles. Islam, during the period of Prophet was by no mean a fairy tale and Quran doesn't portray Prophet as a supernatural being. Many places, Quran convey the message that the Prophet is like common men, who eats, marries, walk in markets like other Prophets used to. Its the followers who made his personality supernatural without knowing that considering him supernatural is against the teachings he preached for all his life time.

Some religions especially evolved ones get hand in hand with atheism and other types.
Actually there are more types than just religious believers and non believers (atheists). There are people who consider all gods and religions as equal and dont subscribe to anyone of them, then there are people who believe in supreme deity but not in god, some believe that god is nature, some believe the sum of all physics laws is god which is not supernatural, some believe in mortal god, some believe in themselves, some (actually most) dont care, they are neither aethiests nor religious believers. Some believe in aliens :\ , some believe that this world is just a virtual reality :\ .

You do not have to prove non-existence. If you believe in mermaids, then YOU have to demonstrate their existence. You cannot say that mermaids exist since no one has prove their non-existence. I am not advocating for atheists. Just saying what they think about religion.
If you go back only 500 years and tell people that you can see on a screen what's happening half way around the world with a few seconds delay and instantly talk to anyone around the world and that you can fly in the air at great speeds, they would probably think you've lost it and burn you for sorcery. For most people, you have to see it to believe it or hear from someone they think is credible enough to believe in what he is saying.
Most atheists I know do not 'detest' any religion. They just think it is stupid to believe in one. :P

Follow the notion of 'people are scared of telling the truth'
When we talk about fear of religious people that means positively, apprehension of God
Atheist and agnostics have negatively-fear of God.
And when you know the idea of God irrespecitve of proof, 'dont care' psychology does not work.

There are different views about the nature of these incidents. My point is the Prophet never used these miracles while preaching. Whenever, he was asked for miracles by non-belivers, he told them (he was asked to tell people), miracles are from Allah and he doesn't have any miracle. He mentioned that people from other prophets were shown miracles (Hazrat Moosa's ummat was shown more than a dozen miracles), but they didn't believe prophets that lead to punishment. The prophet's (SAW) real miracle was raising voice against social evils and bringing the change in society within short span of time. Nothing supernatural, he was able to do due to revelation of the God.

I get you. For the people of the world this is still a miracle (even if its from Allah) as this is something unusual. If you tell an atheist about Meraj he will start evaluating the incident using science (like Einstein's equations E=mC2). The Big bang theory would give you a hint how they believe humans were created. If according to them they were created out of no where, then there's no concept of life after death.
