Why people support or not support a particular ideology? There are reasons behind it. Disagreement with your religion on certain issues may not necessarily lead to abandon it. disliking / feeling of detesting that ideology, should be there to abandon it.

My point was, disagreeing with something or not believing in something, does not mean you detest it. The title of this thread implies that being an atheist means you must “detest” religion, which is not the case.
