question arises what makes people detest religions? lack of information or the way a particular aspect of religion they experience.

Really, there’s an emerging trend within modern atheism to indulge in verbal warfare with religious people or attack religion for just sake of it. Most atheists have problem with certain types of followers of religion than religion itself.
