I cannot talk about 100% of any group but yes there could be elements of dislike or contempt and many a times it could be linked to point 2) in my post # 148. In other words, the contempt could be a bye-product of being wronged by an apparently religious individual, group or society. So they hold the religion responsible for the idiocies committed by some of its followers.

This is very same attitude which was followed by British PM William Ewart Gladstone who called the Qur’an an “accursed book” and once held it up during a session of Parliament, declaring: “So long as there is this book there will be no peace in the world.”
