I usually Like poetry that is about life...spirit ..religion...struggles...even love...but mostly none of the modern day poets/poetesses r my favourites...I go for the older ones..I think poetry has become too simple nowadays...I guess most, to me it appears that things r being spelled out rather them keeping the mystery and taking it in with one's own perceptions is becoming less...That is MY opinion thought:)..So to me Old is Gold:)

mera ek khud ka banaya hova sher to suno sab zara...taraif karna ..acha!

Achi baat hai to rona dhona na ho to maza he nahi ata
dil k chaalon ko koi shayri kahay to kuch nahi
dard to tab hota hai jab koi wah wah kehta hai

To aap kab share kar rahi hain hasnay wali shayari hamesha mujhe he kehti rehti hain :)

Yeah this kind of poetry always touch the heart like iqbal's
Khudi ko kar buland itna k har taqdeer se pehle
k Khuda khud banday se pochay bata terei raza kya hai

poetry of struggle ! so i also dont like the new poets they are just time pass and making money by publishing new books monthly!

tumhari yaad aise waqt bohat ati hai
jub koi bandar aas paas hota hai

Tauba itnaa bura zoq acha hai intikhab mein aaisay threads kam hotay hain aur hum aaisay zoq se bachay huay hain :faizy:
