Why would anyone use anything on PC’s except MS Security essentials? Its free and its better than most other paid ones out there.

TofiBaba: Microsoft Essentials are good but when it comes to freeware, AVG is the best out there.

pk tun: sighs, I suggest you start using one.. better safe than sorry..

I use oregano oil

AVG is a resource hog. And its not very good with realtime scanning. Eg scanning emails and while you’re web surfing. MS-SE is very quick, you don’t even feel its installed.

I use Eset Smart Security (Nod32 and the like) and its been working pretty much spot on for me for a long time now.

I use MSFT security essentials.I Have been using it since they announced it to be free for all. I have not seen any issues so far.

Macafee Internet Security 2011. Prefer Norton’s but going with Macafee.

As for what I use for antivirus/malware protection, I currently use Comodo (free) and MalwareBytes (paid version).

I don’t use any AV products and have been infection free for as long as I can remember.

I use Avira antivirus! It works fine for me. No problems yet AH!

Haha, nah its a view just as a common user. As a cissp and as a McAfee solutions specialist, my views will differ :smiley: because then I will not be talking about freeware then :smiley:

AVG’s real time scanning results and protection is quite good. Plus if you are looking to scan emails from a free-ware its gonna cost you something.

MS-SE is not bad. specially since it was made free. But somehow Microsoft and Security dont add up :hehe: They even have made Forefront free for their enterprise clients..
