Where to start on planning your wedding?!

Ive had my nikkah :slight_smile: it was pretty small but lovely!

Now need to plan the rukhsati - the big shabang for sept 2013!

Where do I even start…? What advice can you lovely people give me? :slight_smile:

Whatever team he supports, get it done there in its stadium, I know grounds have suites now for such functions, he'll be eternally thankful ::D

As for planning the wedding…you should already start looking into outfits for you/him, jewelry etc. I ordered my outfit 7 months before the wedding (got it 2 months later…4 months before the wedding). 2.5 months before the wedding I already had my outfit, all jewelry, MU/hair lady, and mehndi lady booked. You should also start looking at decor ideas for the hall and decide on color combos etc.

As for the event itself…I’d say decide on the guest list first. The # of people will determine which venues you can consider and will also effect your budget on everything. Once you have a guest list narrowed down…start looking into venues, caterer, invitations etc.

I mentioned this on another thread recently but 1 master Excel document with multiple sheets to keep track of everything was a life saver for me. :slight_smile:

Aw congratulations, what a surprise! Plan about 6-8 months, but depends on how much time you have as well.

  1. Guest list (rough numbers, at least, so you can move on to #2)
  2. Venue
  3. Photographer
  4. Makeup Artist / Hair Stylist
  5. Your Dress / His Clothes
  6. Invitations / Stationery (esp. if planning to send out a Save the Date for your reception) Everything Else including: Cake, Florist, Favours, Transportation to and from your venue etc.

In that order :)

(Or at least those were my priorities, except invites/stationery which were much higher!)

And don't take months to decide the first few things in the list.

start what ur budget for venue,food and dresses and deco etc
then u start order for yur jewellery ,some jahez things ,unstiched dress for yurself
