Little Venice Cake Company :: Special Wedding and Celebration Cakes

I went to 2 weddings which had a cake from them. One was the firecracker tiffany pearl cake (Little Venice Cake Company - Iced Collection Page) and the other wedding had a cake with a desi bride and groom on the top! very similar to this Little Venice Cake Company - Iced Collection Page)

maroush - £1200 for a cake is a little excessive, wouldnt u say??!

How to bake your own wedding cake:

Re: Cakes

Its not so difficult to make your own, buy some ready iced celebration cakes and some of those pillar things to hold the cakes up with, then wrap some ribbon round the cakes and top with real fresh roses. I have seen this done tastefully at english weddings and at a pakistani wedding too.

Check out Tesco / Sainsbury’s or Marks n Spencers, at least one of them do madeira cake or fruit cake without alcohol, read the ingredients.

Re: Cakes

  • Marks and Spencer have a range of super wedding cakes and offer the best value. There are three types of cakes – chocolate, sponge or fruit and nine different cake designs to choose from.
With M&S, you can either choose a pre-decorated or a plain cake then decorate it yourself.

Their prices start at about £150 for a three tier cake (approx. 140 servings), although you can buy the tiers individually as well. You simply order online and collect at store. They also have lots of good information about stacking and storing the cake too.

  • Waitrose offers a range of around 8 cake designs in various flavours. The cakes are excellent quality and most come ready decorated. If you want to decorate your own cake there do have a few options available as well.

Their prices start at about £160 for a three tier cake (approx. 90 – 110 servings). You don’t have the same option to mix and match like at Marks and Spencer, but the quality is excellent. You can also order online and collect from store.

  • **Tesco **and Asda have ‘celebration’ cakes, iced, but not decorated for less than £35 for three tiers. Tesco does two flavours - madiera and fruit cake and Asda only does fruit.

Tesco has a large, medium and small Rich Fruit Celebration Cake and the total cost for all three would be £28.81. They come on a silver foil cake board, ready to be decorated and they look alright.

Asda has a ASDA Extra Special wedding cake and it comes in three sizes, totalling £27.94.

I found a video about a cheap wedding cake the other day (sorry for the language!).
