i would NOT recommend making your own cake... there is enough stress in the days immediately before the wedding and making and decorating your own cake is something you don't need to do! i'd rather go without a cake, or order a cupcake tower, before making my own cake. and unless you're very good at decorating cakes and have done it before, sorry, but it'll look kind of crappy too. just a bad idea, imho.

I wouldn't recomment making your own wedding cake either, it would be way to stressful, however, I think it would be easier to ASSEMBLE a wedding cake from ready made if you in a fix. Not the bride herself, but a trusted aquaintance who has an artistic flair would be able to pull it off.
Wedding favours arranged as a cake. This is following the tradition of sending single guests home with a piece of cake to be placed under their pillow to entice dreams of their future spouse.
I was browsing wedding cakes the other day and saw a cake topper with those style faces but wife was bent over and getting slapped on the backside by hubby lol
Girls, I was just looking online for a wedding cake and the average price seems to be around 1,200 pounds.... please somebody tell me this is not the case faints
Try M&S - phone them up. I've had a madiera and chocolate covered cake from there before, which was divine. But they can do more standard wedding cakes too.
