Where is this world headed?

Israel fires a missile into a crowd, and massacres more than 12 civilians, many kids.
Sharon calls it a successful strike. US lets out a whimper of a complaint, and then shuts down.

Had this been an israeli crowd of 12 civilians, we would still be watching funerals and dead men walking parades all over the media.

The fact that Sharon has called this massacre of civilians as a successful strike should have been more than enough to brand Israel a rogue state and a state that uses terror to impose apartheid on a helpless nation. But neither did we hear anything worthwhile from the US govt, nor did we hear anyting from our american members here, who are usually out in full force if israeli civilians are killed.

George Bush continues with his comical rhetoric against Saddam, coming up with new catch phrases on a daily basis…the one for yesterday i believe, was homicidal dictator. OK.

It seems to me that we are headed towards something that the UN was formed to stop…another world war.
A US attack against Iraq will no doubt unleash waves of terror all over the world, against muslim countries that hold US bases, and against non muslim countries, targeted or random.

The UN stands dissolved as it is, since the US has already supported Israels defiance of it for ages, and now it seems to be going absolutely against it, or else forcing it to comply with american plans. I am not sure whether the UN will even survive on paper after this.

God help this world, and save it from all maniacal war-mongering idiots, including Saddam Hussain.

world is headed towards ultimate doom, just wait.

Hmm, Israel deaths use to get alot of press but they became so common that coverage has faded greatly.

As far as that strike goes the IDF claims all but one person was a militant, I guess it depends what side of the story you buy. None-the-less, shooting a missle into crowed street by civilains is not acceptable.

The US did not give a faint condemnation to this action. I have read that, from time to time, Bush has been hoping mad at Israeli gaffes. Some settlers were killed in their car before this action took palce. After that some settlers went after Palestinian shops nearby. The whole context of facts on the ground are not given proper light. I sympathize more with the Palestinians, but I have seen things that could have put th Israeli position in a more favorable light, neglected in some reports in the US and brought out in the foreign press.

Yes Bush did give faint condemnation. There was no talk of Israeli terrorism or aggression in the killing of the 16 men, women, and children, but just a meek statement to avoid civilian casualties. That is faint condemnation. As for Bush being hopping mad with the Israeli's - did he not call Sharon "a man of peace"? And I am surprised that you would show symapthy with Jewish settlers, who who have illegally grabbbed land from the Palestinian's in violation of international law, and built their homes on the land of an occupied people. Not to mention that their terrorist capiagn against the Palestinians in the territories. They are not people we should try to show sypmathy for.

The problem with the US stance wrt Israel is not just of giving faint damnation. On the contrary, US gives solid financial, military and material support to this ultra right wing and zionist government headed by the Butcher of Beirut, Ariel Sharon.

US reputation is bound to suffer as long as it associates itself with this odious regime and for that it cannot blame anybody else.

Yes, $90 billion paid to the Israeli government in the last 30 years to maintain its terroristic army in occupied Arab lands. If any foreign government is going to pay that much money to another state then it must have faith, that no one else does. Hence war criminals are called "peace makers".

No - Isreal only goes after terrorists, its usually the Muslims that blow them themselves up in middle of resturants killing innocent women and childrens.

right...so the infants that get killed are known terrorists? i dont give a rodents posterior about the terrorists who blow themselves and innocent bystanders with them. However one wrong does not justify another wrong.

Fraudia both sides can say what you said, no?

I see so you don't care about innocent bystanders. In the muslim world its eye for an eye.

Israel has suffered too much to ever trust the muslims again. It will defend itself with all its might.

Yes but one side is an elected government. There really is no excuse for a cowboy attitude from such a position of power. How does this reflect on the public of Israel and other nations that support it through financial, material and military means?

Arafat was elected as well. So once again what you say Israel can say the same thing.
