Umm where did I say that? My only point is that some people above said , and I have noticed too, that rishtas stop coming when you are 27 or above. Even if the guy is 30 above, 27 is consider old. Which is obviously stupid and unfair. So I was only asking how can a girl still remain desirable at, say, 27? I mean I dont want to rush into marriage just because my time is running out. And I have a question for guys. If there is a girl who is 21, 22 but pretty average and on the other hand there is an older girl who you find attractive, who will you marry?

In all seriousness, in this day and age, from what I’ve seen…guys don’t necessarily want a girl that is young and pretty. That’s not the only criteria. They want an educated, smart girl, who can carry herself, and like I said above, can hold a conversation. Who knows how to handle a household, but is also well versed in outside the house stuff. BUT…the caveat in our culture is, that it’s the guy’s mom or sister or khala or bhabi or chachi or whoever who is selecting the rishta. And they go with what’s visible…her looks, and her education (which could be a bald faced lie but that’s another topic for another day.) But the guy doesn’t have a say in anything until the girl is short listed by the baray of the family. All the girl in a chai trolley situation can hope to do is talk like an educated person, so the baray can then pass that information along to the guy.
