So I am a 24 years old girl , going to be 25 soon. I went to prestigious educational institutes of my city, and my job will start soon in sha Allah.
I wont say I am beautiful but well I am not bad ;). I do have some proposals but I don’t like them. And I don’t want to invite the rishta gang over until I like the guy…like whats the point? I don’t want to say yes until there is a guy jisko daikh ker (quoting srk here :)) ‘kuch kuch hota hai’.
Just let me know if I am wrong. A degree alone doesnt impress me, I want the full package. Is my time running out? I really dont want to get stuck with the wrong person.
By full package I don’t mean I want an exceptionally good looking, filthy rich and extremely well educated guy. I just want someone I find attractive, and who is more educated or at least as educated as I am.
Let me know if I am wishing for too much because my rishtadars can’t wait to see me get married.

As far as your preferences in a guy, it seems normal enough and there are guys out there that fit your description. At least you haven’t got a list longer than the great wall of China for what you want in a guy like most seem to be having these days.
Just keep looking.

On a more serious note..
Keep looking but look at big picture because no one will fit all criteria. Create a criteria of things that are MUST haves and things that you’re likely okay without. Don’t go by looks too much especially not on 1st sight. Sometimes people take time to appreciate another person’s beauty so don’t be too dismissive too quickly. An average looking person with an amazing personality can look very attractive over time, while a good looking guy with a terrible personality can actually start looking ugly over time as well. An amazing personality can make you apptrciate their physical features more, just takes time. Personality, compatibility and attachment are major factors in attraction as well, not just looks.
Also, dont know if youre using ristha aunty services but they rarely offer best all round male proposals (the female proposals are still decent for the most part). Usually the good looking guys have already found their girlfriends/wives in school and training, they don’t need to use ristha services.

“kuch kuch hota hai” doesn’t happen in real life. And that’s definitely not what marriages are based on. If you’re rejecting guys because you don’t hear violins playing in the background, then yeah, that’s a problem.
And you’re 25. Time is most definitely not running out. Just go about and do your thing and iA when it’s in your kismat, it’ll happen.

Why exactly did not not like the proposals you’ve gotten so far? Did you talk to the guys at all before rejecting them?

Attraction isn’t always simply based on looks. You may not like a guy’s looks based on his picture or he may not be as educated as you BUT if you took the time to meet him and have a conversation, you may fall for him. And it’s not like that guy is going to look the same the rest of his life and that physical attraction may not always be there. If a guy’s looks are totally repulsive you then that’s understandable. But if a guy looks “ok” to you…and if all the boxes check to the point where you family is mentioning him to you, then you should at least invest the time to talk to him once or twice.
P.S. By now, you should realize that Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was a FICTIONAL movie.

I did not find any of them attractive. Plus there were other problems like a 30 year old guy dressing like a 15 years old (saw facebook photos). Some were not that educated.

Well the thing is…if the guy comes along with his family to my house, il just get to look at him. Wont get a chance to talk because we are not that liberal.
To all of you saying this isnt bollywood, well kuch kuch hota hai anjali, tum nahi samjho gi;). I mean hasnt it ever happened with you guys that you see someone and there is a spark..or at least you feel like getting to know that person a lot. Well guess what, I never ever wanted to even listen to the names of the rishta guys ever again, I did not like them even one bit.
Not using rishta aunties, using my rishtadars. I live in Pakistan.

Even though it’s your preference anyway, don’t judge/base someone purely on their looks (yes, I know this is really hard in this day and age!). Looks fade, personality doesn’t. You’ve got to ask yourself, will you be happy with a person who’s a 10/10 with a personality of a brick?
