Pakistani parents are obsessed with making their kids doctors... I know this paki girl who worked as business analyst for almost 2 yrs and loved her job. She even had plans of getting MBA but her parents forced her to med school. She hated it but switched just to please her parents. Oh and all paki rishta guys thought she was too career oriented (she had to travel alot for her job and even went overseas).
I agree Lusi - I think if you have a passion for medicine you should become a doctor. If not there are tons of other careers. Corporate jobs provide great balance for women with children and household responsibilites.
- Telecommuting is an option. (mostly 1-2 days not a problem)
- Instead of waiting 10 years - you can start right away after school
My uncle sons was pushed into medicine. He quit after his first year of residency. he hated it - he just did ot to please his parents. He owns a real estate company now and mA so happy.
