it all started about 24 years ago in 1982 when israel invaded lebanon.
hizbullah forced israel to get out of their country. israel retreated in the year 2000, but still kept some of the LEBANESE AREA under occupation. israel had also kidnapped THOUSANDS of innocent civillians and they're still in israeli jails.
hizbullah demanded the prisoner be released. nothing happened. hizbullah entered politics, won some seats, and demanded that the prisoners be released. nothing happened.
then about 4 weeks ago, they kidnapped an israeli soldier and demanded prisoner exchange.
israel launched a war to "destroy" hizbullah and secure the soldier.
hizbullah is still up and running, firing about 100 rockets a day at israel. israel has failed in its mission to "destroy hizbullah".
now if you pay attention to the israeli and western media, their new spin is, "we had to do this now instead of fighting them 10 years from now."
whatever happened to the soldier?

Iran will be attacked sooner of later, it might not be israel who will attack it but US itself with help of some others. US is playing the same game with Iran, you have nukes, you have wmds, iran say it hasnt got it. its same game played with Iraq.
First they will make sure, that Iran hasnt got any WMD and then invade fearlessly so that the dear Israel doesnt get hurt in the proccess.
for that it may take couple of years more. but look like they are in hurry as not many US presidents are like this one they have currently installed, so they will try it out while this mindless Bush is around.

Iran has nine oil refineries. They must import over 50% of the gasoline used in their domestic economy. Nine Israeli missles destroying these refineries would irreparably damage the Iranian economy. Everything would grind to a halt. They are extraordinarily vulnerable.

I agree Iran is vulnerable. Iran's resources lie within Iran whereas Israel's resources lie in U.S (we the tax payers). There is not much damage Iran can do to Israeil's biggest resource which is American foreign aid.

Iran depends on Russian arms and factually is the 3rd biggest buyer of these weapons afater China and India. Whatever Iran has is the blessings from Russia, and I don’t know what expertise of Iranians you are talking about while they depended upon Pakistani Nuclear Scientists in their nuclear program but compelled by their religious betrayal they provided names and evidences of Pakistani Scientists’ involvement in their nuclear program to Americans for which Pakistani Musharraf called them so-called champions of Islam in his live speech on tv. Because of these shameless and ungrateful Iranians, our great hero Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan has suffered a lot.
