When will Imran Khan condemn this?

Something tells me this will not even register with him. Remember he supports the Waziristan militants and their campaign of Pashtunsitan/Talibanistan.

3 FC men, 4 militants killed in Tank and Bannu

Staff Report

BANNU/TANK: Four suspected militants and three Frontier Constabulary personnel were killed and two policemen injured in three incidents in Bannu and Tank districts on Monday, police said.

Bannu police said that “four residents of the city” were shot dead after they exchanged fire with police for more than two hours in a cantonment area.

Bannu DPO Mazharul Haq Kakakhel told Daily Times that the four militants killed by the police were residents of Bannu and had been identified. He did not give further information on the killed men.

Meanwhile, Tank city police said that FC assistant district officer Mir Wali Khan was killed when suspected pro-Taliban militants ambushed his vehicle near Dabar, eight kilometres west of Tank. A security official, asking not to be named, told Daily Times that Khan died of his injuries in a hospital.

Hours after the incident, local Taliban attacked another FC vehicle going to Tank, killing two FC troops and injuring one other.

“Taliban were roaming in the area with rockets and hand grenades hours after the incident,” passengers arriving from Wana told reporters in Tank city.

Sources told Daily Times that the local administration was considering handing over the control of the city to the army. They, however, said that deliberations were at an initial stage and no final decision has yet been taken.

Both Tank and Bannu lie in North West Frontier Province (NWFP), a gateway to the volatile Waziristan tribal region on the Afghan border.

Violence has been increasing in parts of NWFP over the past year or so, evidence, some analysts say, of ‘Talibanisation’, or the spread of militant influence from remote tribal regions on the Afghan border to more developed, populous areas.

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

propaganda

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

Let him deal with "enlighted" & "educated" people of MQM first, rest can be tackled later.

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

MQM has provided Imran Khan with a perfect start (pinch hitting in first 15 overs). With the stupidity of singling out Imran for condemnation, his popularity in non-MQM people has rapidly grown in last few days.

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

Well MQM is part of the govt that is allowing such things to happen under it nose..
Perhaps the MQM should pressure the govt to do somthing about it instead of sitting around chanting slogans or acting like a bunch of thugs.

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

How you can say he has his support in only non-MQM people?

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

so u want to say that MQM people support Imran Khan.

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

Sorry just leave it. Ridiculous question from me.

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

True, these Wazirs are out of control tribals in an area that was not even under Pak govt remit till Musharraf took order's from Bush

Contrasted to the MQM Govt that has killed it's own people, crucial difference

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

Yaar khehkeshan how could you say that? He is against military operation in Waziristan. As far as I am aware he's against Talibanisation and he has never said anything about pashtunistan. This is just oversensationalising mirch masalaing the whole thing. This is how a tabloid would print this news

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

question is who is he canibalising the popularity from. I mean if Imran becomes more popular, its one of 2 things.

1) either people who were not supporting any political party support him now
2) people who support other political parties support him
2.1) they support him in addition to who they support (which can be a little dicey)
2.2) they support him now instead of people they were supporting early (i.e. he is taking support away from other ppl whether they are PPP-people, MMA-people or MQM-people to use the term used by you)

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

wah.. one of 2 things kaha aur chaar options dai din

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

2.1 and 2.2. are subsets of 2 :) combined they make up 2.

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

I think its 2.2. Read an article today in Nawaiwaqt that people have been flocking his place with pledges of support and money. Some have come up with material to help him for case against AH.

Overall, i am skeptic of Imran's abilities or sincerety to lead the nation, but he is playing to tunes of widespread public opinion at present.

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

^ so in your view he is now beginning to steal marketshare from other political parties?

That is good news man, very good news because we have diehard followers that are loyal to their parties come hell or high water. if theya re switching loyalties. That is an encouraging sign.

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

Another masterstroke by Musharaf. Further splitting the PPP vote, and PML vote in Punjab, meaning more deals and hera phairy by people wanting to join Musharaf in power :)

Irony is that MQM vote bank will not be affected.

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

well he could be also getting support from ppl who were not in anyone's camp and thus were wasted votes..yeah?

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

^ Indeed. This democracy lark is getting too complicated :)

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

Condemn this maybe?

Hangu Nazim survives attack

HANGU: Hangu District Nazim Ghani-ur-Rehman and close friend of Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao Khan survived unhurt after a bomb explosion damaged his vehicle on Wednesday, security sources said. “It was a remote-controlled device and I was the prime target. But I am totally unhurt,” Rehman told reporters. Rehman was on his way home from his office in the afternoon when the attack occurred on Thall Road, police said, adding, “The bomb was planted near the roadside and caused slight damage to the vehicle”. The NWFP has been experiencing a wave of bomb blasts and suicide attacks in recent months. The provincial government blames “invisible hands,” a reference to intelligence agencies, for the worsening law and order situation. staff report

Six die in fresh Pakistan violence

PESHAWAR: Taliban insurgents shot dead a military commander and a soldier in northwestern Pakistan yesterday hours after police killed four rebels in a firefight, officials said.

The unrest comes amid mounting concerns about the spread of a Taliban-led insurgency across the border from Afghanistan into Pakistan’s tribal belt and nearby regions.

The commander and the soldier died in separate ambushes while travelling on a road out of the restive town of Tank.

Gunmen hiding on both sides of the road sprayed bullets at the vehicle of Mir Wali Wazir, the local commander of a paramilitary unit, in a morning attack, senior police officer Mumtaz Tareen said.

Hours later, gunmen fired at three more paramilitary vehicles, killing one trooper, a security official said.

Gunfire was still occurring, he added. Witnesses said that some 200 militants had taken positions outside Tank on the road.

Tank was placed under curfew last month amid violence triggered by the killing of a militant leader following attempts to recruit school students to fight in Afghanistan.

Re: When will Imran Khan condemn this?

So I suppose the fact that Imran Khan doesnt openly condemn such terrorist attacks, means your justified in not condemning crimes commited by your own party?!
