I was reading some statistics where the percentage of Pakistanis was grouped with Indians in a certain country. I know Indians are always eager to call Pakistanis as Indians but never seen a Pakistani who is happy to be called an Indian.
How do you feel when you are labelled as an Indian ? Does it mean anything to you?
Alhumdullilah em a proud Pakistani, or kisi b true patriotic k liye yeh bat utni he takleef deh hai, jitna apnay ghar ko chor k kisi dusray anjaan ghar mein adjust krna..!
i saw, at least on one occasion, one Pakistani passing himself as Indian…may be he didn’t want to stand out in a crowd of Indians at a Train Station. i assume he was an exception.
Actually we are part of the indian civilization, we’re from the Indian Race, apart from the “arabz” wannabes. We’re Indians Marking out a territory doesn’t make you different
Depends on the classing. If they class you under south asians or asians (as they do in the UK) then im sure that’s ok unless you want to be classified as belonging to central asia or middle east. If they call you indian by mistake you can just correct them. Don’t get too offended or try to get too much takleef from it. Sometimes its hard to tell the difference. And Geezer im sure not all Indians would be eager to call all Pakistanis Indians. Bit of a generalisation. Maybe the only ones who try to see unity and similarities between both countries. There are similar sorts of patriots on both sides hence the conflicts.
They should curse the person in the severest of terms, spit on the ground, jump up in rage and threaten the person if they were to create such a sin.
How dare anyone call a gora/gori Pakistani a kala Indian? I mean you are basically whites or arabs not asians, right? A higher class. Too bad you get classed as asians in the Arab world and face similar discrimination like when going to shopping centres. You should inform them in the Arab world to treat you as a higher level then Indians.
Unki yeh himmat. Let’s beat the person up and show everyone how unIndian the person is. Indians aren’t humans they are another species 10 degrees lower in humanity. How could anyone possibly compare them to a pure blood Pakistani? They are muggles.
actually im going to cut down my long comment because short and sweet is better. I would say I wouldnt mind being called Pakistani and i know many Indian girls who would see it as a compliment as Pakistani girls are quite good looking. Some other Indians obviously will want to correct. If it was just a one off i wouldn’t correct them but i guess if it was someone i would meet on many occasions i might say i’m actually Indian. Personally, i try to counter racism when i can and there is quite a bit these days in the West and if someone is having a positive impression of me and considers me Pakistani i wouldn’t get offended by it or have takleef.
Now I’m thinking does that mean i am not as patriotic. Should I change and make a more outward expression of not being Pakistani because as some mentioned a patriotic person would want that mentioned? I don’t think i should because patriotism isnt just words but actions. Anyone can say words but few act on it.
I’d probably say I’m not Indian ( very politely ). Then I’d give them a short history lesson on how the countries came into being back in 1947. And then I’d tell them that some of the Indians speak the same language as me.
I’m pretty sure the person who’s going to call me an Indian won’t care for all this, but meh. I’d probably change the order on those.
i understand the takleef part but i didn’t understand the part about the chor adjusting to a new house.
Oh you meant like if someone was to move to a new house. I thought it had to do with a chor as in thief. Well dost it’s all about perspective. Some people like to move to a new house. They think it’s exciting. Purana ghar toda stale ho gaya. Maybe new house has different views. Like if you move from Pakistan to UK/US it takes time to adjust but in time you start liking your new house as much as old. Maybe if it was a purani haveli of your ancestor you might have fun exploring it and learning about your past. Maybe you can even live in 2 houses depending on the mausam?
Refreshing comment I’d say you guys probably more claim over the India/Indian label as the Indus river flowing through pakistan is what led to the name. Kingdom of Nye must be a peaceful and hospitable place.
