In Middle East its today and fasting is tomarrow. :) Moreover time differences is 13 hours USA - Pak (I guess).

as far as I know, I haven’t found any sahih hadith about shab-e-barat. The one most people mention is a Zaeef Hadith. But Allah knows better.
When I went for Umrah the last time during midweek of Shabaan, I was surprised to see there was no special ibaadat or even mention of Shab-e-barat. They don’t observe it in Haram sharif or Masjid-e-nabwi.

I agree with you. I only know about it from my parents/relatives but when I searched I was unable to find any references. I’m trying to find some info about it and than 
I’ll share here.
Moreover, I think there is no harm if one offers Nafli Namaaz and observe Nafli roza.

^^Depends if your masjid if following the makkah calendar or the north america (or local) lunar calendar, technically it is today according to NA lunar calendar for people in NA.

Please refer to the wiki link I posted. Saudis in haram are salafis and they have a very different view about each issue…we don’t follow them in other things but when it comes to nafli ibadah we turn to them.
