When fashion becomes vulgarity ...

.. So I was given a very expensive dress today as a gift by a muslim family… it was a sleeveless shirt with capri trousers and designed to show cleavage .. the aunti insisted I wear the shirt and show it to them ..

The fact is , I hated it … and upon their insistence I told them most humbly that I will not be wearing it , because I very much care for my modesty and refrain from the skin show…

and i was given a huge lecture from all the girls that fashion is fashion, if i can wear suits to work and trousers and jeans , I should have no issues wearing sleeveless and capri or even dresses that show cleavage …

I was shocked .. cant these pathetic fashion followers see the difference between clothes and nudity? why do we muslims not realize that we are not malika shirawat !!!

We are the ones that make the fashion a trend , we should despise and discourage all nudity , fashion can very well be carried out in full clothes , we dont necessarily have to shed our clothes to create fashion …

Am i old-fashioned? Am i not thinking right? whats going on wth the muslim women , why cant their fathers/husbands/sons stop them from being nude?

Re: When fashion becomes vulgarity ...

no ur not wrong, u want to dress modestly, good for you.

Nobody is forcing you to wear (well maybe except for those ladies).
What's wrong is when we lecture/etc each other, and think ourselves somehow better, whether we wear hijab or wear sleeveless/capris.

I respect women in hijab but I don't think they are any better than the girl who is dressed fashionably.

Re: When fashion becomes vulgarity ...

.... then close your eyes !

agreed, .. and you are not old fashioned at all … i like it you tell them on their face.. :k:, you nick is chicken biryani .. and this very much modern.. :@:

Re: When fashion becomes vulgarity ...

I want biryani. :(

Re: When fashion becomes vulgarity …

hijabi or not , i am no one to judge anyone , but when its the question of nudity , I think we should totally detest it , coz thats not fashion anymore … today its sleeveless tomorrow it will be shoulderless and then backless and god help us , why do even some of us need clothes !

We might as well borrow some clothes from bipasha bassu and live on those peices of clothes on the name of fashion…

Its really good that u said it 2 their face, and they should have been embarassed that they gave u such a dress, but instead u got lectured :smack:

Re: When fashion becomes vulgarity …

CB- maybe its not as bad as you think why dont you post your pics in it and we will let you know if it is too revealing :halo:

Re: When fashion becomes vulgarity ...

most of these threads go bayhuda.

Re: When fashion becomes vulgarity ...

lets make it huda again.

Re: When fashion becomes vulgarity ...

^ X2 i have inkling u'll have to run and hide if u want to keep it huda so shush.

Re: When fashion becomes vulgarity ...

yaaar it was huda. first post was a joke obviously..but had a message that if it is something on does not want to be seen it then dont wear it whether or not it is acceptable by others

second post indicated the issue that this showing business is so rampant sadly that people well women actually attempt to show..using contraptions like push up bras and what nots

my wisdom comes cloaked for the true followers

you are not a jedi yet

Re: When fashion becomes vulgarity ...

sighz i know ur second post would have had couple of more jedis here and then the wisdom would be every where. no offence though my first post was a general observation.

biryani bhai men also wear female dresses?
duniya badal rahi hai:D

You did absolutely correct and no you are not old fashioned. I dont understand these people who think nudity = fashion, :smack: I mean there is nothing fashion about it. Just wear nice covered clothes :biggthumb
