Sehrysh running out of gas is one of my biggest fears. Just last week, I thought I had enough gas to make it 90 miles but I ran into a lot of stop and go traffic. So the light came on and I thought to myself I can make it 20 miles but home was still a good 30 miles away. But I was refusing to pull over because I was not familiar with the towns I was passing through. I only pulled over when I got into a town I was familiar with. My passengers were not amused

There are rules/laws on what type of container you can buy gas in - they didn’t have any at the station. The guy at the station (he could see my car from the cashier’s booth) let me put it in an empty windshield wiper fluid container. I know, probably not the smartest move, but it was freezing and he felt sorry for me.
I’m terrible that way! While I’ve ever run out of gas once, there have been a lot of times when the light is flashing and I’m sending up duas that please Allah mian, don’t let my car stall in the middle of traffic. At that point I shut down the radio, the AC/heating - anything to conserve the gas!

not always…these gauges are not that accurate. braking, uphill/downhill gradients can throw these gauge readings…what if you get stuck, on a wintery day, in traffic or held up on highways due to accident or if you are stuck behind a crawling traffic due to lane closures…it will be indeed a nightmare!

I know, I waste lot of gas in drive thru lanes but then my gas light turns on soon.

The battery has finite energy. So if accessories running battery gets discharged. The fuel is used via generator to charge battery.
If territory familiar I wait till quarter tank. Lighter wt so better fuel eff lower carbon footprint

The fuel gauge was on E but the range meter said I still had 60 km's so I thought lets see how this goes. Ran out of fuel 10 mins away from home, when range meter still said 50kms and friend had to come with a jerry can of fuel. Now its always a quarter and I top it up.

When the gas is half way through..i fill up the tank. I am used to..of keeping it that way!

when its half full to quarter full. I have this fear of running out of gas on a busy highway and then getting killed :(

Usually when there’s a quarter of the tank left.

Quarter full. Although, on occasions (one too many) I have driven with the light on - thankfully though never totally ran out.
