When computers get hacked...

what can hackers really do with them? Can they move the cursor to where they want to or pop up random porn pages on your screen, or even type (while you are working on MS word) and you can see what they are typing. Pretty scary! and I just experienced it the other night…

Re: When computers get hacked...

Re: When computers get hacked...

If you see that happening, immediately switch off your computer OR unplug the network/modem cable. & clean your PC.

Best put a firewall, a good antivirus & run some thing like Ad-aware or SpyBOT (seaach & destroy).

Re: When computers get hacked...

Unless its someone with a personal vendetta against you, then you wouldn't even know your computer has been hacked. Ofcourse once in they could do anything, but that's a rare occurence.

Re: When computers get hacked...

my fav: use their bandwidth.

run bots

and so on

Re: When computers get hacked…

not to mention leverage the hack to get into something more important, copy their data and leverage that. Before you even start thinking about your computer being hacked all the money would be gone from your accounts and you’d have to sell your computer to pay for disposal costs and the hacker would probably be the one who buys your computer.

:hehe: Sorry, I couldn’t resist!

Re: When computers get hacked...

professionals will use your bandwidth and storage/processing resources.. other clowns will just show off by doing something nasty..

Re: When computers get hacked...

I would like to learn how to hack professionally for noble purposes. Anyone willing to teach me the few basics ?

Re: When computers get hacked...

I have yet to understand why would a hacker get into a normal computer user's computer and will do such acts. Sounds like to me that "hacker" is on his early stages or a wanna-be.

Re: When computers get hacked…

:pppp

Re: When computers get hacked…

Yeah true.

People generally mixup wannabes and professionals. Hackers are not those kids who spend hours sending files to create pipes and open remote ports then use certain tools to access victim with cool GUI. No! Ejecting your neighbour’s cdrom drive is not hacking.

Believe me, real guys dont like fame, they dont delete jpegs from computers.

Re: When computers get hacked…

Hacking is mostly done by students/young ppl. They compete each other or its ppl who get pissed and become nothing in life…they just wanna show how much they really know

Re: When computers get hacked…

Yep get yourself a book on networking. Maybe even on C programming if you want be leet and find your own exploits.

Re: When computers get hacked…

I disagree. Most of the people who do this are ‘script kiddies’ showing off. Camp consists of two groups:

Black Hat: Hack for fun, money or to steal data.
White Hat: Bit like casper the freindly ghost. Do it for fun but dont cause damage
Grey Hat: Not really a group but people who do a bit of both

From my expereince people hack becuase they are intrested in the workings of networks, programming or just curious to how things work. Put knowledge to use. For those who think hacking is a secret program few people have and dont shre youre wrong. I used to think it was easy peasy just like trojans but from a terminal. It comes naturually once you understand the workings of technolgies - if you think hard enough or have a curious mind you will automatically come up with scenarios where it could exploited and thats what hackers do.
