Re: When computers get hacked...
Any good program out there to detect hackers? My Norton used to be able to pick it up, and even give me IP addy's to trace the location, but now it doesn't anymore. Does that mean some hacker got to it?

Re: When computers get hacked…
If you have been hacked. Install the following:
AVG (free anti-virus): Better than Norton / Mcafee etc

ZoneAlarm (free firewall): Better than most out there

Re: When computers get hacked...
Usually firewalls are great way to findout about the in and out traffic to and from your computer but once again I could careless if someone is able to get into my computer because I have nothing they could use against me.

^^ bingo!
Re: When computers get hacked...
Well, here's what might have happened to me: we had unsecured wireless network, so anybody could connect to the internet through our connection. Second, my Dad used the software called "PC anywhere" (which enables you to access your PC through any PC???).
Any thoughts on the software?
P.S. My dad just "secured" the network and nothing weird has happened since then..
Re: When computers get hacked…
lol @ groups!
But how do these nerdy wimps dig up the codes unless they are the ones who helped create the programme?
Re: When computers get hacked…
unsecure wifi means they can connect anonymosuly to your subnet. Change the ARP tables so they become ‘man in the middle’ and all traffic can be sniffed at. Have a look for user names, passwords, check your msn conversations etc… only thing which they cant view is is SSL traffic but as they control what goes to and from you a hacker can send you their own SSL certificate and if you agree the encrypted traffic can be deciphered.
Re: When computers get hacked…
They have programs that store information (even can sort it out) and this way, when you pay bills, open your bank account online, they can get the whiff of it and then you know whooooooooosh.
Scary ain’t it! ![]()
