India issue its Passport for ten years. Why don’t Pakistan issue for ten years instead of five years?
India issue Machine Readable Passport within their embassy/consulate. Why don’t Pakistan embassy/consulate issue Pakistani Passport within their embassy/consulate instead of printing and dispatched it from Pakistan?
India issue one Identity card. Why Pakistani have two different Identity cards one in urdu and another in english?
My friend visited embassy and told me what he heard Pakistani seeking services in embassy saying such things. I wonder why some Pakistani compare services provided by Pakistan with India?
since India does NOT allow DUAL citizenship, they have recently introduced OCI [Overseas Citizen of Indian]...this card gives foreign nationals of Indian origin the same rights as those of Indian citizens residing in India EXCEPT that they can NOT vote or be a candidate in any type of elections. i kinda like it...i don't have it yet but i might have it soon. it's a great help when you are traveling to India for an extended period. you do NOT have to report to police of your arrival to and departure from India.
LKK: Why are you comparing services with India. Pakistan had improved its ID/Passport productions method, and in near future it will enhance more. year limitation is something based on ministry of interior/foreign affairs matter. I believe they are generating revenue for good reason. I hope, they will bring new services soon.

What is a NICOP useful for if you already have a Pakistani passport.
NICOP helps dual nationals as well, as they dont need to maintain two passports. They can keep the foreign passport plus NICOP for visa free entry into Pakistan.
NICOP is for transactions with consulates abroad. In Mideast, most of the time your passport remains in the custody of your employer. So it helps.
Can't they use the regular NIC for that. I'm sure Pakistani consulate employees can read Urdu.

The Pakistani passport and NICOP cost almost the same and the passport has more utility than the NICOP card.

NICOP I believe is valid for 10 years and Passport for 5 years, its easy to use only one passport and NICOP as compared to using and maintaining two passports especially during the travel back home. What extra benefit has the passport over the NICOP?
What is NICOP Validity period?
NICOP is valid for 07 years for UK, USA & Europe
&
NICOP is valid for 10 years for Middle East
The majority of Pakistani dual national don’t live in the Middle East. So that’s just two extra years.
Okay I agree NICOP is probably a bit better than the Pak passport for dual nationals due to the extended validity. But personally, I prefer the feel of a proper passport booklet. NICOP is just a fancier NIC, aur passport passport hota hay. That’s just my personal bias.

if you have a tourist visa valid for more than 6 months and you intend to stay for more than 4 months, you must report arrival and departure to the LIU [Local Intelligence Unit] in your city.
it's a a very easy process. my folks do it all the time...you just have to make a trip to the LIU and the rest is taken care of...you just have to bring two passport size pictures.
I dont know who is better than the other one. But I'm happy with how NADRA works.
NADRA is a fully computerised agency. I got my NICOP card within 10 days and CNIC on the same day :)
