I wish I had tips and tricks… but my secret is using my dad’s credit card and then just putting my phone far from my ear when he calls me up screaming 
Other than that, the best thing is end of season sales… rarely if ever I remember to go to em, but when I do its awesomeeee! You find loads of great stuff. It also helps having friends or sisters who wear the same size.. you can always chip in and pay 50/50…

I would suggest looking on Ebay...if you have a credit card then ordering from eBay is great...I found a bunch of amazing stuff in their... btw they are brand new
like I found a burberry scarf for $25
or Guyess heels for $14
I wouls say invest in some really good quality stuff and then play around with it...
like I LOVE big tote/slouchy purses...so I bought one from XOXO for $20 when it retails for $350 normally...I bought it from a store in Canada called Winners, in AMerica its called Marshalls... stores like these usually have limited amount of items but 60% off mostly
so invest in things like a cardigan, a nice tailord jacket, a nice scarf...I know those arab scarfs are HUGE right now, I always wear mine with a tee, it adds a big oomf to a simple plain tee
another is go all out for ONE nice purse, a nice creative looking kind, mine is beige and leather, so i can wear it with anything and its sooo sexy looking, so remember you dont have to have a matching purse or shoes...the funkier the better
also buy chaper things flats and stuff, they are cheap but can be worn under skinnies, jeans or even dress shoes
basically invest in some things but get bargain stuff for the rest

For my everyday bags and purses I tend to bargain shop a lot. The bags that get a lot of abuse I buy from TJMaxx. That is the best place to shop if you want to find a good bag. The brand names are good...Dooney&Bourke, Coach, etc. They have some European brands too that are pretty nice.
Same goes for shoes...Ive gotten a pair of Prada Wedges from Nordstrom Rack for less than $100!

^ i alwas hear abt sample sales in magazines, they give out web addresses for places of sampl sales in your area.
Oh, places like strawberry and Square One also carr name brand stuff, like bags and coats, but for much cheaper.

Marshalls, TJ Maxx esp has a runway section too! Also Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus's outler centres. They don't ahve them in many cities but I do make it a point to check it out if I am visiting a city that has them.

I always go to Sawgrass Mills mall when I visit hubby in Miami. This mall has almost every outlet possible and it will take you days just to roam around the entire place. It's huge and the collections/sales they have are amazing.

So im there all the time. that enitre mall is an outlet place. u can get a nice coach bag for lyk 200 nice jeans at almost any name branded store for really cheap!
and their mens clothes are burberry are my fiances fav!

I live in the western burbs of Chicago! I love TJ maxx for this reason!!!
Of course, you have to pick and wade through stuff sometimes but when you hit upon that rare find...its all worth it!!!

You know what I wonder about? All the people who get all of these lovely new desi clothes all the time! I feel like I must be out of the loop.
I had a beautiful bari and a gorgeous jahez. And maybe because of that I feel very guilty buying new heavy clothes. I want to design me own stuff very badly (I didn't have a chance to select any of the stuff in the bari and jahez), but then I find out how much this stuff costs, and I just can't imagine it. Even on a Western income, it just feels like waaay too much.
So who are your secret sources for reasonable and gorgeous desi clothing?

i was reading in Harper Bazaar (my favourite magazine ever!) and they did a similar article...about spending on clothes but on a budget...anyways here is some stuff to know:
1) play up on accesories...like right now I just ordered a buncha stuff for around $13 from girlprops.com...they have wicked stuff and accocories are a great way to add punch to an outfit
2) invest in certain things like :
---> a Chanel 2.55 ...i know its expensive but say you got this , you could store it away for ur kids, lol....i mean the purse was made in 1955 and it STILL remains the most wanted purse in the world...things like this are TIMELESS
---> buy some plain mens tanks....a pack of 3 hanes mens tanks from target is around $9.99...now if ur wondering what ur gonna do with tanks...well if you do wear tanks then you could pair em with jeans BUT if you dont rock sleevless, you could put them under a cardigan or do some funky layering
---> another...go to old navy and stock up on plain tees, black, white, grey w/e...they go great over anything, can be layered and or played up
---> and PLEASE do check out some online stores...i already mentioned ebay.com/ girlprops.com, but if you google some...i'm sure you'll find some amazing ones where they have a section just for sales...like at girlprops.com its called BUY BUY BUY
3) Essential wordrobe peices :
-** cardigans**
-tailord jacket
- jeans....atleast 3 ...differnt washes is good
- shoes...atleast 3... i wouls say get flats, flipflips and a pair for winter
- TEES, plain or not ...just in general
- dresses...now I love to pair mini-dresses with tights or jeans
- a mini leather jaclet, perferablly in BLACK...okay so if ur not into leather jackets or w/e, this is the time to get into em, the whiole grunge/punk/haute look is back, go check out some gucci ads, or runway pics from the fall shoes, its all stuff like thatand PLUS, a leather jacket with a mini dress looks SO hot, its like a girly look with PURE badass-ness, lol
- Belts
...and now thy are in all sorts of styles...from corset kind that are wide and look insanely amazing with dresses/ or plain dress shirts to ones that are finger-widt wide...AKA pinchers , they look SO wicked paired with a cardi or again a dress (btw when I say dresses, I mean dresses worn with tights or jeans)
4) and a routine you should do before updating ur closet is this...go thru it and see what you need, and make a list of 5 things you need FOR SURE, then go shopping for ONLY those 5 things....that way you wont spen on things you dont need, its like going grocery shopping while hungry...you end up buying totally in the moment, lol

sample sales can be awesome but they generally only carry the smaller sizes because, well, they're samples that get shown to buyers before the season begins. i think they sort of hover around size 0-6, with a few size 8's thrown in. so if you're skinny, go for it. i'm an 8 but i've got curves, so rarely do i find stuff that works for me at those sales.
