Even by muslim law (now, I am not an authority on this of course) my understanding is that the husband has maximum authority over wife - so if the husband has not converted then the assertion that the wife’s conversion is invalid is more potent and valid than the claim that the marriage is invalid.

No man has that much power over his wife, even in Islam..
