some muslims have them, some dont. my aunt has one every year, which i find odd. they justify as bit of fun…and doesnt mean we are christian. i say,`its a representation of a tradition in another religion, why are we soooo hellbent in being followers all the time. if we were in indi, would be get equally as involved in the diwali celebrations then?
whats farz in our own religion, we dont do those things.
but whats fun in other religions, we aim to do all those.
i guess reading namaz, keeping rozey and going to the mosque just aint fun…
( this was my response to my aunts and uncles who ALL HAD CHRISTMAS TREES, AND HAD TURKEY ON CHRISTMAS DAY, however were slightly miffed when someone wished them a marry christmas`…
i dont know if having a christmas tree at home comes as being against your own religion which is islam. but as far as i can tell i dont think there is anything wrong if you want to put christmas tree as a decoration in your house...however celebrating christmas is wrong but then we do attend christmas dinners and partys aswell.
having turket isnot wrong, as long as its halal you can have it at any time and day be it 25th dec. and if someone wished them merry christmas thats fine too cause lost of gorays do wish us merry christmas just in general. one should just accept it politely well thats what i do.
poor tree..why would someone kill a tree and then light it up with bulbs and strange looking colorful stuff????
what goes around comes around so watch out for tree invasion.
You know what Nadz. Im a little bit tired of this BS now...every year around Christmas...its the SAME OLD stuff.
We dont put up an X-Mas tree but I might do one next year. I see nothing wrong with it. You know why? Because its Quid-e-Azam's birthday, thats why.
Because as Pakistanis...we dont seem to have an issue with getting down and partying when it comes to a mehndi or spending a million dollars on a wedding or whatnot. Guess what? They're not Islamic either. THEY'RE CULTURAL ADAPTATIONS FROM ANOTHER RELIGION AND CULTURE. Where in Islam is a bride supposed to wear a red outfit, a natt, jhoomer, tika, her weight in gold and take a furniture set with her? A Pakistani putting up a Christmas tree is the same as a Pakistani wearing a natt on her wedding. A cultural adaptation. A tree. A damn tree is what people have an issue with.
People dont seem to have an issue with mayun, mehndi, jahaiz, bribery (which is Pakistani culture now), etc. But we've got an issue with a stupid tree.
Khalil we cant celebrate christmitas because its shirk it is shirk because if we celebrate chirmita we are indirectly accepting that JESUS AS was son of GOD

facepalm
OP is talkign about having a Christmas tree in the house, or having a party. I am positive no Muslim ACTUALLY celebrates Christmas. None of us go to church for prayers on the day..

Each n every bit of the abovementioned actions are EVIL...i hate all these petty stupid 'rasams'......
Why do desies wear jeans, skirts, shirts or eat at McDonald’s? Dont they understand its western culture and eating spaghetti is symbolic to the British Occupation? I swear, every time I leave the house, I see desies ONLY in pants and shirts…some even go so far as to wear dresses! :o
I dont get what is so wrong with wearing kurta shalwar and eating roti achaar at work?

First of all...what is ghey?
Secondly...judging from your location...you're coming from a family that practices each and every bit of the above mentioned EVIL actions. What do you have to say about that?
