Re: Whats with coconuts and religion?
Seriously....I think they are worse than the Taliban some times and GS is riff with them. They twist and turn religion to fit their own personal views, because they have an identity issue. You will hear Pakistanis or Muslims in the west saying Homosexuality is acceptable in Islam.
Its ****ing Wajab-ul-Katal. How can it be Halal when we are ordered to kill homosexuals? Or dating. Dating is haram. No ifs or buts about it. You can not hang out with a na mehram for no reason in a private setting.
Then other issues, like clothing, social life, ethics etc etc. They twist and turn religion to make it fit their personal view point, oddly enough just like the Taliban do. The Express Tribune is a stellar example of such people but GS has a few.
So why do people attempt to abuse Islam? Makes them sleep better at night? Eases their guilt?
And Rishwat, Chori, Corruption, tax chori is allowed in Islam??. Come on who are you kidding here. Stop wasting time on the small things and worry about the big things. Dating is haram but stealing from the poor is ok.

Haha you dunce, did you even get what he was trying to say?
Re: Whats with coconuts and religion?
He's not saying he's any more religious than those people. He's just saying when you fail to admit you're wrong and try and bend religion to suit yourself.
I'm probably hell bound lol but I make no excuses for my deeds and I know I'm in the wrong. I don't pretend what I do is okay or whatever.
He's not saying he's more religious, just more knowledgeable.
Re: Whats with coconuts and religion?
He’s talking about black and white issues. :hinna:
Re: Whats with coconuts and religion?
Nah, CM didn't come across as claiming he was more knowledgeable. Even if he did, he'd be trollin'!
Re: Whats with coconuts and religion?
^ What's black and white, concrete and literal for some, may be grey, complex, and nuanced for others. Like the dating issue.
Re: Whats with coconuts and religion?
^ I'm pretty sure that's the issue here.
Re: Whats with coconuts and religion?
People can read whatever they want into my comments. My comments stand as it is.
Don't malign the faith because you don't follow its edicts. Man up and accept you are not following what the faith says and move on. Don't defend it.

you know thats not possible for half the species ;)

Yes, and rather than recognize the tension due to differing perspectives, and try to inform them and/or learn about it, it's much easier to mock them using idiotic terminology about culture/race rather than religion (ie. the term "coconut"), blast others as sinners, or say they are not Muslims. This reactionary approach is the method of a small mind, not what I would have expected from CM.

how about i ease your pain for sleeping better at night by just saying "live and let live" you don't have a "theaka" of Islam and neither you have any authority to even remotely think of anyone being wajab-ul-qatal.
we will see on day of judgement who was right or wrong. Now cheer up.
Re: Whats with coconuts and religion?
For me its not about not being able to digest advice that is based on/supported by religion. My thing is, before you whip out your advice, just ask yourself if you follow the same. Do you walk the walk or just talk the talk. You would say a good word is a good word, I believe that, and I do appreciate good advice. But when some of these religious types take the monumental responsibility of being the shepherd of the whole ummah i.e. constantly riding your ass with fatway and references, I do get annoyed. I shouldn't mention names, but I really appreciated this Submission to Peace guy, he would often post an inspiring incident here and there, I would read it and think about it, and take something positive from it. But then he whips out his alter egos RAW and Gogo, and jumps into every thread, throwing people's jokes in their faces, telling them how polluted and impure their minds are, and starts fitting their mothers and sisters into common jokes that people share for a laugh, now THAT **** is annoying. The result? I start to detest this guy and even his good advice goes does the drain for me. I mean by all means do convey the good message and do offer good advice, but FFS stop being in people's grill all the time. Whats with the self righteousness? Mind your own business and let people mind their own business.
Are you sure STP, RAW, CMG the same guy? STP and RAW's posts are very similar and on many occasions I've also thought they were the same. Either way, I've never seen any of them personally attacking anyone and still find their posts to be a beneficial read.

Again, we're discussing issues which are clear cut in the Quran. Hey, I'm no Molvi neither do I profess to being one. I'm just saying when its obvious there's no grey area and there's no room for innovation, people need to stop justifying their actions. Personally, I know when I'm wrong and I don't find clauses in religion to make myself feel better.
Simple example - Relationships and all that. I've been in a few and I know I'm in the wrong from a religious POV. I'm not going to say 'But we were going to get married and our feelings were pure or whatever'. I know I'm losing points there but I choose to accept it.
Don't malign the faith because you don't follow its edicts. Man up and accept you are not following what the faith says and move on. Don't defend it.

See if Sahar wasn't married, I would so jump on that as being her giving me attention :D

thank you for permission and guarantee of no suicide attack on me. you are the man ![]()
Re: Whats with coconuts and religion?
I’ve always been a little delusional. ![]()
I agree with you. There are things that are clear cut in the Quran, and I think we bring those passages to light if we think someone is really in the wrong and misinterpreting/misrepresenting the religion. But that’s not what’s going on here. Here the OP is dismissing anyone with a different interpretation or understanding.
With Homosexuality there is little gray, except perhaps in the treatment of homosexuals (but the practice is pretty clearly forbidden in the Quran). But there are issues, like the dating one, where it’s not so clear cut, because the OP’s definition of dating is not the same as others’.

Obviously I'm not the only delusional one. :D
Re: Whats with coconuts and religion?
If something isn't crystal clear in the Quran, try sunnah. As far as I know, we're supposed to meet the potential rishta person with at least one other person beside us.
But in the present times, when we're working/studying with na-mehrams everyday anyway, there's no harm in a boy and a girl meeting over a cup of coffee to intervoo each other. It shouldn't become a weekly thing though. That is my take on it anyway.
