There is an opposite side of this story too. In NWFP area men have to buy their brides. The more mature and beautiful a girl is the more pricey she is. Men are known to get old, very old trying to accumulate enough money to buy a bride. For this reason , you will see a 5 year old baby as a bride of a 50 , 60 years old man in that area. Due to that tradition men and girls suffer in that area. Pakistani culture is infested with all kinds of ills and evils when it comes to marriages and weddings.
Oh yes due to this ill tradition , men and their family treat the women they buy, like an inanimate object. Ont the other hand a family having 3 or 4 girls consider them very lucky because they , not the the girl get that money paid by the groom to buy his bride.
I've heard the same tradition is true for Saudis too. Is this true? If yes, then why do we blame Hindus for the nuisance of Jahez?
