effect and can do sexually week the muslim youth that will ultimately result the divorce

with them.

My idea for untangling this knot is Enlightened Moderation, which I think is a win for all – for both the Muslim and non-Muslim worlds. It is a two-pronged strategy. The first part is for the Muslim world to shun militancy and extremism and adopt the path of socioeconomic uplift. The second is for the West, and the United States in particular, to seek to resolve all political disputes with justice and to aid in the socioeconomic betterment of the deprived Muslim world.
We need to understand that the root cause of extremism and militancy lies in political injustice, denial and deprivation. Political injustice to a nation or a people, when combined with stark poverty and illiteracy, makes for an explosive mix. It produces an acute sense of hopelessness and powerlessness. A nation suffering from these lethal ills is easily available for the propagation of militancy and the perpetration of extremist, terrorist acts. It is cannon fodder in a war of terrorism.

let me paraphrase it for you,when its completely legal for women and men to sell their bodies and all other lude acts,when drinking is allowed(even though DUI is the biggest reason for road kills etc etc) and such immoral acts are allowed to CREATE INDUSTRY to drive the big wheel of economy.
By allowing such things are open access to 300+ channels(cable operators) with nominal censorship,the govt. aims to distract ppl from their day to day pathetic existence and create a fairyland, to remove ppl from their religious beliefs,and create supply for artificial goods and services(hence the economy).Preventinve engineerings and sociology(in the west) now realizes that MANY products that are manufactured in this age of pollution and global warming are completely useless and shud be removed bcoz they have no real usage.Use ur imagination and ull come up with plenty.

Great post.But ur assuming that the west wants to give up its dominant position.Its a sad fact that while trying to improve our socioeconomic position one must have a strong enuf military to deter the opposition,or get bullied.The last thing those in power wish to see is a 1.5bn strong bloc rising up and uniting atleast socioeconomically(even if not politically,like a khilafa,which is impractical at this point in time).
BUT still i agree,that ur suggession is that best course of action.We have to be smarter than picking a fight with everyone.Maybe if we strive for personal achievements and perfection,it will create a collective upheavel and the new generation in the west will see us for the strong values that we represent and see beyond the biased media.

Realistically, enlightened moderation is whatever Musharraf decides it is. Enlightened moderation encompasses everything from the state taking greater control over religious education through to declaring that Pakistani women are claiming to be raped simply in order to emigrate to the West.

Enlightent Moderation was introduced by the President of Pakistan after 9/11. Now, whenever a new word is introduced, it gets two types of reactions. One good and other bad, Pakistanis who have a negative view of Enlightent moderation would use and give examples of bad things and situations, forexample I have seen Pakistanis blame 'Enlightent moderation' for bollywood movies in Pakistan. Now think for a moment, does this blaming makes any sense?
Question is intention. What was Musharraff's intention when he introduced this word? Is he telling us to give up our culture and become western? Is he telling us to drink alcohol? Do other haram things? Change the way we live, or change the way we think?
Simply, he is telling the nation to embrace path of socioeconomic uplift. Posotive thinking is not going to hurt anyone. I have seen many people who have no facts on religion and current state of the world but continue to preach what's right and worng.
We have a country that is divided between two types of people. Those with world knowledge, others with religious. Both of them are pulling the nation towards their way of thinking. They are in clash with each other, not knowing that unintentioanlly they are hurting Pakistan. Both of these sects can use a little bit of moderation and understand each other's point of view because we all want a better Pakistan, don't we?
