All too often the prostitutes are unfairly targeted but guess what? If there weren't men to solicit them and sell them, they wouldn't have a job. Sex is what sells most, East, west, islamic/atheist society it doesnt matter, sex is the oldest profession and as long as there is a demand for prostitutes, the demand will be filled, either legally or illegally. Many of the girls being used for sex (girls because they range from young to VERY young) in teh sex trade are forced into it, they're trafficked across borders, kidnapped, raped, beaten etc. They have no choice in what they want to do.

ENLIGHTENED MODERATION IS AN OXYMORON. PERHAPS ITS THE PAROCHIALLY ENTRENCHED AND THE DOGMATICALLY INDOCTRINATED WHO PREFER TO THINK OF IT AS ENLIGHTENED MODERATION OR THOSE WHO FEAR TO SUPPORT ENLIGHTENMENT WITHOUT CONFINES. why moderate? was Copernicus a moderate? Confuscious? Plato? Budda? Da Vinc? , Jean Jacques Rousseau? Tao? Newton, Machiavelli? Ovid, Hawkings? or did they explore and question without limits to be enlightened? WHY LIMIT THE SCOPE OF ENGLIGHTEMENT FOLKS> feel threatened?. iT IS 2006 NOT fourteen hundred years ago plus. As all around us evolves, such as the constant changing of the Zodiac - the stars of the sky - so too must our spiritual beliefs. Because one man said he is the last to speak, does it make it the TRUTH? does knowledge and pursuit of it stop and remain stagnate?
I should rather TERM THE PHRASE - ENLIGHTENED MODERN , -------- a result/product of a well grounded education, open discourse and proactive practice in accepting other faiths and beliefs through friendship and curiosity. Moreover , having the right choose to follow whatever path or belief at any stage in life without succumbing to the classic evils of judgement, condemnation , persecution and subjugation to one theocratic dogma developed long ago when troglodyte influences were abundant, when the sun evolved around the earth , when the planet was flat and dinosaurs never existed. As knowledge progresses and civilization evolves so must our view of what we are preached and how we use it to promote hatred , persecution and intolerance and the continuos pious practice of 'crucifixion' both physically and mentally of ourselves and others.

If you discount man's hand in transcribing the Quran, the many interpretations by mullahs, clerics and Imams of the Quran , the translation into many languages where debate has existed whether meanings have been slightly changed or not than ya you are right. but are you really right? think hard , you might be surprised as the answer may oppose your reflection.

And of course by Musharraf you mean the US. And don’t forget to mention it means changing the consitution so you can stay in maximum power for the maximum amount of time with a hand picked prime minister. Plus the little thing of doing USA’s dirty work in Afghanistan.
