P.S. Bored and I received further infraction points AGAIN for the same reason after giving a solid irrefutable explanation for my “opinion.” I don’t have an agenda, I am just curious to find out what you think the difference is.

If you have left the religion which I am sure was your conscious decision . You must have thought through and understood what is lacking from religion and what any religion is all about then why this confusion now ?

Not confused at all. I have already said WHY I am asking this question. I received more infraciton points for the SAME damn thing. I can't help but wonder what you all think the difference is between religion and cult.
The only people that counterquestion questions are the ones who don't have a legitimate answer.

Religion ‘“ a method of thought that is meant to give meaning to man’s life by putting him in communion with a higher power through stories, rituals, and beliefs.
Modern Definition of Cult and Religion
Cult ‘“ a secretive group that brainwashes its members into engaging in obscene and harmful practices for the sake of a charismatic leader.

As you can see, the definition of cults has changed significantly over the past thirty to forty years. This is because some cult leaders, such as Jim Jones, sexually abused his followers. Other cults, such as Aum Shinrikyo, have committed high profile crimes, such as the sarin gas attack that took place in the Tokyo subway.
Summary:
1. Cults and religions are ways in which people can belong to a group and receive a way to interact with God and the world.
2. Cults are generally considered to be secretive and illegitimate whereas religion is open and legitimate.
3. Cults are joined through coercive persuasion whereas religion is generally inherited.

So what makes religion so different? Cult leaders are charismatic so were religious leaders/founders. Apostasy from cults is punishable so is apostasy from religion. Cult members cannot question authority of the cult leader neither can the followers of a religion.

If you believe all cults are false and religions are no different from cults, then all religions are false. Therefore, my opinion whether false or not is like that of anything else posted under religion forum hence should not be moved/deleted/infracted.

I am not trying to make anyone denounce their religion. Just saying I have the right to critisize it without it being labeled as religious mockery and it shouldn’t be infringed upon by GS moderation rules. Such rules make it no different than those radical racist forums I was a part of years ago. If I purposely try to offend others then I deserve a ban/infraction points. BUT if I am simply replying to a thread like anybody else, it doesn’t call for a ban or infraction points. If I am not the instigator, why am I treated like one?

Newsflash - GS rules aren't about to change. So may be you should. And if GS is comparable to a radical racist forum, go criticize religion on an atheist forum and join up with the atheist army to fight all evil in the world and make a difference. Go plant a tree or something.

@Theorist in your first post you said you have no agenda you just want to understand how religious folks think but all your subsequent posts prove that you have an agenda of making mockery of religion.
The sole purpose of your post was not to understand the difference between religion and cult it was just to come here and do some more anti religion trolling. You are smart enough to understand the difference between a religion and cult , you just wanted to come and rant more against this very forum , your infarction points and religion.
You did not come to have a civil dialogue you came to say that all religions are false that was your agenda , right there.
What religion or cult being false has to do with the definition of religion and cult that is what you came to understand and yet ended up insulting religion one more time declaring all religions false. You might think all religions are false but billions of people who believe in religion do not. Why is there a need to insult their intelligence to declare that you are smart one you know all religions are false and they are idiots in believing in religion.
In this world There are more smart people who believe in religion than smart atheists.
