Re: Whats in Seattle, WA?

:D

Ok seriously, there is a lot to do in Seattle, indoor and outdoor both. Museums, lakes, ski resorts, falls, parks, mountains, malls, you name it. Halal dining is plenty. Off course Microsoft and Boeing are there for nerds and geeks.

Re: Whats in Seattle, WA?

Hmm.. now I came to know.. no wonder TLK remains so sleepless.. :)

Re: Whats in Seattle, WA?

Better to be Sleepless in Seattle than to be Loveless in Louisiana.

Re: Whats in Seattle, WA?

Re: Whats in Seattle, WA?

Could not come up with any other cheesy comment so wrote that :D

BtW, my wife loved watching Frasier and always liked Seattle and wanted to visit. Power of spoken words I guess, so here we are now

Re: Whats in Seattle, WA?

Seattle is a major tourist spot in the summer time. AT this moment, we are experiencing the heaviest snow in 20 years...last year it didn't snow at all. But what happens with even a little snow is that the road conditions become very dangerous due to the fact that we're on hills and you can hardly find a stretch of flat land!

But really, if you want to see nature at its best, this has got to be it! It's green, surrounded by the Cascade mountain range on one side and the Olympic mountain range on the other. So you can see some of the tallest volcanic peaks around here. We also are on Lakes Washington and Union that flow into the Pacific Ocean. We're home to some of the rich and famous such as Bill Gates, the Starbucks dude, the Costco Dude, the Amazon dude etc, TMobile folks...and you can take cruises to go past their homes!!! And then there's a whole bunch of other cruises around the area and up to Victoria Island **. Very busy and fun downtown. Great restaurants [and coffee] and fantastic fish!

Unfortunately, June-October is when you'd enjoy the most.**

Re: Whats in Seattle, WA?

Ummm how is the weather in, say, January?

Re: Whats in Seattle, WA?

Nov-Feb is very cold. It doesn't snow as much as the East Coast but you can't go mountain climbing or to the beaches :(

Re: Whats in Seattle, WA?

It can’t be any colder than Toronto/NY :@:

Its okay…i don’t think we need the mountain climbing o beaches :bummer:

Re: Whats in Seattle, WA?

Sara, Seattle weather is a 3D weather. They just dont tell you weather of different regions but of different heights. So it could be raining at 500 feet above sea level but snowing at 1000 feet above. That makes driving and what not more unpredictable and slippery (because of hilly roads) than many of the east coast cities.

Re: Whats in Seattle, WA?

With great weather conditions going on, I guess I am more interested in halal dining :)... whats your recommendation? I like mediterranian, chinese and of course desi cuisines.

Re: Whats in Seattle, WA?

We dont have many Mediterranean but you will find plenty of Somalian restaurants. We love their food. You got to try Chicken or Beef Suqar. We do have couple of Halal Chinese but we have many Cham/Vietnamese Halal restaurants, you got to try their food. Plus Indian and Pakistani halal restaurants are many.

Which are would you be staying in?
