Well let me answer you as we both belong to same area and probably seen similar although I may say I have seen more having my roots in interior sindh as well.
I would try to be as much reasonable as possible as I don’t consider what you call muhajirs as muhajirs but sindhi as me.
Quota system: although it may sound idiotic to you but quota system benefit city population more than it did to the rural in the long run look in the private sector how many opportunities do we have whereas govt sector is rotten and see how many from interior sindh are in private sector good many but not much, have you wondered why?
Although quota system was for their good but turned out other wise because it eliminated competition therefore education system came down to the ground people weren’t looking for competitive jobs but safe govt sector jobs and now when govt sector job openings are decline many of youths from interior sindh find themselves unable to do a thing.
Go in interior sindh and you would see how much unemployment they have, and you may have noticed many sindhi speaking people doing hard jobs as labourers which pathans used to do and also you would find many sindhis from interior sindh doing clerical sales jobs than 2-4 years before.
whereas youth of khi is more competitive because firstly they have good education in first place second there is competition.
Now I would talk about 80s: I know those were hard times I still remember when I was stuck in curfew while returning to my home from boarding school.
We all have gone through it but I don’t support no one blindly many people think PPP is good for sindhi whereas I say they are worst you know why because the kill the spirit of competition whenever they come to power they simply distribute jobs for money.
Many who criticize MQM aren’t wrong actually but still I would say I would prefer MQM over PPP anytime because I know what their guys do in small town which isn’t reported but still I would criticize MQM whenever they do it wrong.
So you can’t simply put 60 years of history in one topic and say punjabi this and that nobody stopped others doing something it was just one (us) wanted others doing their bet first.
