Its a good example but I guess there also should be a difference between telling the truth and ‘hum to maasoom dil hain, jo dil main ho wohi zuban pe’ attitude. Point is, telling lie should not be mixed with good people skills. Latter is highly encouraged even in Islam.

well we should really distinguish b/w telling lie and not telling anything… I prefer the later one..
