I directly take their name, in fact call them tu.

Agar disrespect karni he hai then go all the way. Khali peeli don’t stop at aunty/uncle, take their name directly. That will teach them to marry their son or daughter to you.

Exactly how is it disrespectful to call them Aunty/ Uncle? I asked my hubby what to call his mum and he said “Aunty is fine”… his mother never requested the “Ammi” tag either (i wouldv’e called her that if she had asked)… despite that, there’s a lot of mutual respect between us (Alhumdulillah) and thats ALL that matters.

Whats the point of calling someone Ammi/ Abboo but its more lip service and no true feelings are involved, particularly in cases where the DIL is treated badly and is still made to honour her MIL with “Ammi”?
