Barring pesky international regulations and whatnot…what are some foods from Pak that you would bring back?
And to be more practical…what could and should be brought back, that won’t cause any issues or ruin my luggage? ![]()

Re: What would you bring back from Pakistan?
My mum brought back Dalda ghee ke dabbey, frying pans and taweey from Pakistan. When I came back to Dubai from the summer break, there was even a frying pan in my hand carry!
Re: What would you bring back from Pakistan?
barfi... I love it and I usually bring back a lot of it... you can also freeze it to use in gajr ka halwa in winter! I have also brought gulab jaman without the sheera!!
what else, dry fruit, dhoda, pateesa, rewri etc usually to give away to people!
hmm besides mithai, I have brought back shan masalay, custard powder, cooked food cans (like for haleem, chicken karahi etc) in my luggage.. when my mom was visiting my mil sent desi ghee for her son so thats an option if you or your husband is interested in desi ghee ke parathay and/or halwa!
and don't make fun of me but I am guilty of bringing chips, candy, and biscuits too because I grew up in Pakistan, developed the taste and now I dun think any chips or candy in the US tastes as good as the ones in Pakistan so I bring back loads of them even for friends!
Re: What would you bring back from Pakistan?
We get the dry papads that come in various shapes and are fried before eating. Also pan masala such as Gogo. And kalakand. And color wali moti siwayan.

Btw, if you wanna get mithai, get it from the airport while coming back. You just need to have some room in your hand carry for that. They pack good so there wont be any dripping hopefully and their quality is good as well.

Re: What would you bring back from Pakistan?
It never occured to me to bring back any food-related items until last year. We got a bunch of baked goodies (mostly cookies) from Gourmet. Despite proper packing, at least a quarter of them turned into crumbs or broke. The rest were intact and were enjoyed with tea and coffee for weeks. Yum!
Re: What would you bring back from Pakistan?
Crates and crates of green pakola ![]()
