Mine was writing articles in a children’s magazine .. I think I was 15 at that time .. and would get AED 40 per article …

I remember with my first ever wages, I took my family out for dinner and yeah that was it , 40 Dhs gone in a jiffy :naak:

So paid internship counts - well my first ever job was being an intern in Software configuration department of an IT firm !

in terms of earning, first instance was tutoring O-levels student while I was in A-levels.... basically ran a crash course of sorts for Chemistry and Mathematics. Got paid Rs. 500 per student over two days by 5 students. Rs. 2500 over two days were good wages at the time. What'd I do with it? Took friends out for khaaba, and spent the rest on buying some books.

Worked as a catering assistant (it was a summer thing). I only remember hitting the mall and buying a whole lot of stuff I didn’t need.

UAE based children’s magazine…was it Young Times by any chance??

I started work in supermarket warehouse when I was a student. I still think it's one of the coolest jobs I had! With my first wage I took my sisters shopping :)

i never worked until i started my real job after finishing my doctorate degree. i started as a post doc researcher.

my first job was as an admin Assistant + receptionist my first salary was 1500Aed ..and i gave it to my ammi :hypo:

I just got my first job this year. It has to do with reporting of medicine side-effects :) .. I only work a few hours a month, so the pay is nothing biggo, but the experience for my CV is all good!!

I bought me mah a SaRi and took my siblings over a dinner ! gawd you could do so much in 6000 rupees during that time !

Chester fried chicken as a back person .. minimum wage was 6.75 and i got paid 7 and i felt like a king

awww its not surprising that most of us had student jobs , eventually what ever the nature of the job was , it was a very important part of our life and our first earning :@: ...

I have a buddy , who is now a CEO of fortune 500 listed company... and his first job was during his early teens when he had to struggle to earn money to pay his school fees .. and for a long long time he worked in tandoor making roti's ... years later , he still remembers the pleasure of those hard earned monies ... such is life

First paid job....Housejob...aka one year internship after MBBS
Was over the moon when I received my first pay-cheque. Came home and straight away gifted it to my mom :)
