While we're on the topic, it would help if we could dig in depth the defining lines that give rise to the 'types'. Maybe, just maybe, someone like me who thinks all Muslims are meant to be just simply muslims, will have a better understanding of the different sects.

To unify muslims, we first have to get rid of all these ridiculous names for Islam and categorize them by schools of thought or behavioral pattern or political aspirations not different versions of the same religion.
