girls/ ladies as i wear hijab / head cover only , with whatever i wear both eastern n western stuff , sometimes i find it difficult to find decent attire for myself which doesn’t look out of place with my hijab , so thought to ask those of u , who’re like me , as to what u guys suggest should be appropriate to wear for going somewhere , casual wear, sport wear -or- even party / special occasion wear , also send pics to elaborate … i’ll add mine too shortly.
P.S: i highly respect all girls/ ladies who either follow full purdah / hijab n jilbab -or- don’t follow hijab at all , with this thread i don’t mean to mock or offend any of u .
i feel good in winter here in U.S cuzz i layer up myself , in something warm + coat on the top which easily cover upto half thigh or even more depending on it's length , shirt or top's length doesn't matter for me as i always wear coats or long sweaters above it ........................... but in summer i face real hard time , there're limited options to wear on top of jeans / pants + i can't add my coats to it , so it give me cringes to look for long length shirts which r hardly available anywhere . As I'm 5'6" so it's not easy to find a long length shirt / top/ kurti which covers upto half of thigh or more.
why not long skirts?
i agree , its hard finding stuff in the summer that are full sleeve....but i have a lot of 3 quarter lenght sleeves tops, and i then i bought those arm sock thingys from the islamic store...i dont know how to describe them...sorta like long gloves, but they dont cover ur hands, just the arms....
i also have a lot of those long shirts that were in last year...i think they are in again this year....
afshi i liked yr add-on-sleeve idea with 3 quarter sleeve shirt , and yes long shirts r in this year too , and i've just started looking for them...........
i have been looking for what will make one feel comfortable with hijab and a western clothing from neck to ankles.
i think a regular dress shirt, cami w/ a summer jacket with long skirt and stylish shoes is quite stunning look.
for beach goers, jeans and kurta and sneakers or loafers
for casual formal work wear - a small width chiffon scarf on the head and around the neck will look good w/ dress pants, shirt and jacket or cotton sweater shirt and heels
i agree, finding stuff in the summer is very hard. i'm encountering this problem right now and it's just my first year of wearing a hijaab. tears. but i usually wear those cotton kurtis, which are easily available, covered yet trendy. i really wanted to get those "arm socks", since i have to wear an additional full-sleeve shirt under my t-shirts, which is TORTURE in this saudi heat. :S..

also please suggest kind of jeans / pants that could go with hijab , i prefer either regular fit -or- boot cut styles ( non clingy), i somehow don't like staight fit/ cut and the rest , how about u all ?
