another really good idea for summer-- jeans or pants of your choice + a sundress, it looks really chic and covers everything up
and w/ sundresses you have soo many options, especially if you look for them right now, that if you coordinate w/ your scarf you can go for lots of different looks that look great
for sundresses that are sleeveless--- wear a lightweight long sleeve shirt underneath or a light cotton cardigan/ button down shirt on top
i personally wear jilbab so i havent tried this myself but i know girls who do and it looks great, plus you are completely covered!

For the summer, how about a little dress, with cotton pants underneath? kinda like shalwar kameez but w/o the desi-ness to it :D Ive seen tons of girls in my clg wear that type of stuff, it looks really nice.. Also, these days, those long sweaterdresses, with leggings/skinny leg jeans and boots over the pants are in... i know so many places to get those long sweaters from, i guess its easier over here than where u are

almost every single dress on this page can be worn w/ jeans or pants and would look really nice, they even have long dresses which are really hard to find!
plus their prices are really reasonable

I wear long skirts and long tops with hijab. I get my clothing from a variety of places. The gap usually has a lot of halal clothing. May you be rewarded for your efforts, inshaa’Allah. :slight_smile:

I wear long skirts with those pants that cling underneath (so they cant be seen hanging out from the very bottom of the skirt). Since I need to lose a lot of weight I find that stores that are NOT part of a mall sometimes carry them in cool designs. Although I have found some in malls. Especially at big department stores. You can also look up some muslim stores online that sell such things.

I also wear long sleeve shirts bought in regular stores. I stick to solids mostly in the shirts because otherwise they dont always match with the print of the skirt.

For casual wear I bought a long jean-skirt and other long skirts that you can get at desi stores.

I quite like the idea of those arm sock things, it can get quite hot wearing a long sleeved top underneath everything with shorter sleeves.

Do they not have a tencency to roll down though or do they really stay put all day long?

I'll be honest here, it may look nice but islamically its too tight. You need to get loose fitting. These dresses how ever are usually tight from the chest area.

bbbb yr point is right but with these pics i only meant to give some idea abt kind of tops we could wear with hijab on , just their length is okay ( top to bottom) but we need to cover up the shoulders or short sleeves or chest by wearing something on top or beneath these tops, and i also mentioned that only few of them r decent enough to go with hijab on.....................

girls i really like stuff available at shukr online , they really cover up properly , but the prices r a bit high ............................. is that just me or u too have found it a little pricey ??

You know the stuff from shukr are mostly tunics, which are a indonesian style of a kameez. If you show a tailor the pic, you shouldnt have a problem getting sewed by an aunty. That's what I did and it turned out great!

Also it helps if you have aunt that sews ubber quality stuff (like mine). ;)
