help girls.
i’m so confused so i need ur help, i’m getting married in june and by now i only have my dress for baraat finalized and ordered.
for the walima i just cant decide between colors and styles…
i am 5’5’’ and weigh 59kg (but i will surely reduce more till my wedding)
i have a broader structure but my arms and face are remarkably thin, so i do look slim.
i want you girls to suggest some styles and colors for my walima.

A nice peshwaas in an elegant colour such as dull gold, ivory or white.
Simple jewels and fresh make up, you will look hot.

i just know i dont want to wear blue or peacock green, as i have already had these on my nikkah and engagement respectively ..
styles, dont know, maybe a longer shirt with a lesser kaam wala lehnga ...
i'm quite blank at this time :(

Well, brides like to wear pastels on their valima with contemporary cuts. The colours include:

  • White
  • Beige/Gold
  • Grey
  • Turquoise
  • Mint
  • Baby Pink
  • Peach
  • Lavender
  • Ferozi/Baby Blue
  • Mustard

But here are brides who are not fans of lighter shades. I have seen valima brides dressed in:

  • Orange
  • Plum
  • Dark Green
  • and even black, though it is not preferred by many.

The outfits can be in one solid colour with gold/silver/bronze kaam or in a combo of two.

The styles include:

  • Gharara
  • Sharara
  • Anarkali
  • Khara Dupatta
  • Sari

Every family has their own traditions and preferences and the outfits are chosen accordingly.

and sari for my mayyoun :D

yes please, and if we want to get it made by some "karigar" in liberty or anarkali how much wud it cost ?
coz my dresses for mayyoun, mehndi and baraat cost me 2.5lacs already and my inlaws are paying for all of my dresses, only if this one fits in my budget, i'll get this made

I wore Tiffany blue and like a rustish-cantelope lengha on my engagement party (we had a big affair since we decided the wedding would take place 2 yrs later). Now getting ready for the big day and worried about my Walima Lengha too!

Something peach or pink or beige or any light pastel coloured pishwas or lehnga would loook tooo good for walima. Light colours on walima gives a very nice and fresh look to the bride. So whatever you get try getting in light colours.

Since you did blue and green aleady, maybe something warmer, like plum, peach, purple, or pink.

thanks girls, i was away from gupshup for a while, couldnt update.
i ordered my walima outfit from libas-e-khas. its a pale pink and turquoise lehnga, with a longer, front-open shirt with heavy kaam on the shirt and dupatta, while the lehnga only has some embelishments on its lower part.
very different and eye-catching :)
